'Joy' is just one of the paintings in my current exhibition 'Finding Peace' . It's an acrylic painting on board, 80cm in diameter. It's name aptly describes how the art of creating and painting makes me feel 🥰 I hope this beautiful and unique piece can bring someone else a moment if Joy 🌺🤩

I've always been fascinated by the rich history of Cork City and it's industrial past. This recently demolished dockside building witnessed the ebb and flow of life on the Docks for over 80 years. Now immortalised in this dramatic framed piece, 'Echoes of the Dockside' which is off to it's new home today !🤩😎

Huge gratitude to Eve Kelliher for telling my story so perfectly in the Irish Examiner Property & Home! 🌟🙏 Also a big thank you to Esther McCarthy for all her help and support 🤩. It makes perfect sense that the places where we work should be beautiful and inspiring, studies reveal that workers can be 32% more productive when their surroundings inspire them.
As more employees return to the office it's important to create spaces people want to be in, I've been working with architects, project managers and forward thinking HR professionals to create just that.
Being an artist can be lonely work but collaborating with people to create artworks that inspire creativity means that I get to do the two things I love the most - paint and work as part of a team. The lesson from this is that when you follow your true passion things can and will fall into place.

Thanks so much to Yay Cork for sharing my work and the story behind this unique collection of photographs. The R&H Hall building will always have a special places in the hearts of all Cork people ❤️🤩

Cork-based artist and fine art photographer Sue Nelson has launched a collection of unique limited-edition prints to immortalise the R&H Hall grain silos that have dominated Cork City’s skyline for 90 years 🥹🏙

With an engineering background, Sue was always fascinated by the city’s industrial history and the Docks. In 2023 she meticulously photographed and captured the silos at all times of the day to ensure her artwork embodied the soul of what Corkonians have become accustomed to since the mid-1930s 📸

Her collection of numbered limited-edition prints, signed by the artist and entitled ‘Echoes of the Dockside’ 😍

What are your memories of the Shakey Bridge?
The Shakey Bridge has a very special place in the hearts of Corkonians. It's not only that it's nearly 100 years old and hence has has been around for as long at most people can remember, it also seems to evoke so many happy memories. People just seem to love it and it's been a firm favorite in my Designs collection since it's release 7 months ago.
At the Cork Summer Show, I remember an elderly gentleman proudly showed me a photograph of his parents taken 75 years ago in the exact spot I took my origional photograph. A young girl wanted to buy it as a Father's Day present, as that's where they went every week on their Covid walks. However she didn't have enough money, but she spoke so beautiflly about her Dad and those walks that I gave her the print for the money she had. I hope her Dad loved as much as she did 🤩😍
I'd love to hear more stories, so do get in touch. I also have another beautiful brand new print of the Shakey Bridge, come check out my website at www.suenelsonartist.com
