Congratulations to cork stroke support member Norman O Rourke. 👏👏. Very well deserved

Each year six people receive a Lord Mayor’s Civic Award in recognition of their efforts to improve the quality of life for those in their community, with a Culture Award presented to someone for their lifetime contribution to the arts.

This year's winners included:
🏆Jean Downey in recognition of her work with Bishopstown Tidy Towns.
🏆Donnacha O’ Callaghan in recognition of his outstanding commitment and contribution to Rugby in Munster and his work with UNICEF Ireland.
🏆Gary McCarthy in recognition of his community work and long-term commitment to empowering young people through music.
🏆Dr. Naomi Masheti in recognition of her commitment to the Cork Migrant Centre.
🏆Fahmeda Naheed in recognition of her service and dedication to the Irish-Pakistani community in Cork.
🏆Norman O’ Rourke in recognition of his contribution to music and cultural heritage in Cork City.
✍️ Playwright, director, and writer Marion Wyatt is to be the recipient of the 2024 Culture Award.

Tandem bike pilots helping people with disabilities in Cork experience the joy of cycling "It’s for people who can’t, for whatever reason, cycle a bicycle on their own," tandem bike pilot, Mark O’Donoghue explained.

A huge thank you to Louise Coombes and Tadgh Adams for their very successful fundraiser on behalf of Cork Stroke Support. They ran the Paris Marathon in April and called in to present the cheque to committee member Pat Hourigan and centre manager, Feena McGrath. Such an amazing achievement. We're all extremely grateful here. 👏👏👏

and a folding CHAIR is good to bring Alon Go as we do like to play for a good while.

The Marina will be buzzing in the later afternoon, the climax of the epic race An RÁS MÓR as boats of all shapes and sizes will be battling it out on the water, having rowed the 12 nautical miles from Crosshaven. So the Marina is the place to be for most of the day. So if it is sunny 😎👍 bring a picnic.

Duke🎵AD himself has completed 4 races in the Dragon Boats. Shiver Me Timbers ⚓️
