We had an extremely busy night earlier this evening Tuesday the 23rd of July. We had plenty of volunteers even though we’re in the middle of the holiday season. The same can be said about the amazing people in our food rota,we had an abundance of hot meals sandwiches and soup not to mention a wide variety of treats for those with a sweet tooth. It can be quite at this time of the year normally but I can’t say that it was tonight. We had a lot familiar faces at our tables but plenty of new service users also. Whether this will continue into the future who knows really, only time will tell. Through your generosity we are able to provide all the basics to keep our homeless friends alive with food, care packages, sleeping bags and tents etc but also very importantly we talk to them and treat them with dignity and respect. The one thing we can’t provide is a roof over their heads unfortunately. This was brought starkly to our attention earlier as we were winding down when a lovely softly spoken female appeared late at the table, she had just discharged herself from hospital with some serious injuries and the story she told us was that she was sick of been homeless and couldn’t take it anymore. We gave this poor misfortune everything she asked for and then some more and also some kind words that will hopefully stay with her for the next few days. We’re out again next Tuesday evening and as always anyone that wishes to join are more than welcome. As always thanks to everyone for all your help and support 👏👏

Plenty of rain this evening and we weren’t sure if it would be worth our while even showing up. As it turned out we were very busy after a slow start. Once again we’re indepthed to the amazing people on the food rota who not alone arrived with a selection of delicious dinners and soup but also managed to brave the elements and navigate Patrick’s street which is currently down to 1 lane due to essential road works. We had 5 volunteers and a bear minimum set up because of the weather but we still managed to feed a large amount of very grateful service users. Once again it should be said that we are fortunate to have the support of the people of Cork so thank you all for been there. We’re out again next Tuesday at 8.30

Homeless help and support were in St Patrick’s street again this evening. Very busy as usual but we’re so lucky to have an excellent food rota that provides the most delicious restaurant grade dishes for our service users. As always we catered for a wide variety of people tonight and also gave out a huge amount of men’s and women’s clothing and underwear socks and toiletries. We lost a great friend of ours a few days ago in Barry Hurly so we send our condolences to his family and friends. Rest in peace Barry it was a pleasure knowing you. We’re back out on the streets again next Tuesday, thanks for all your support

Life on the streets is very hard on a person's physical health. It makes dealing with medical conditions extremely complex. Sad news today hearing another of our service users died. A familiar face at our table. Always a word for everyone. Rest in Peace Barry ❤
