Our Story
ο»ΏThe Blankets of Hope was an idea Ann Dowley Spillane saw in the States, and when she was going through Cancer , Ann found that some-days it was very cold in the Chemotherapy ward and there was a need for Comfort Blanket. So we came to the our team and asked them what they thought and then we went with it. We started by asking the volunteers in the Centre and their families to make and knit squares or Blankets and today we have donated over 15,500 blankets in the Cork and County Regions, and Kerry.

ALL OUR BLANKETS ARE FREE OF CHARGE
ο»ΏThe Blankets of Hope are taken to the four Oncology Wards in Cork. Nurses distribute them to cancer patients, women, men and children's wards. We also distribute them from our Centre in 26 Paul's Street, Off Lavitts Quay Cork City.
We depend on donations of wool , we never sell or raffle any of the Blankets that are donated to the Centre, these are property of Cork Cancer Care Centre and will be distributed to all the Oncology Hospitals Hospices and Homes
