Tennis Tip Friday πΎ

Today: how to serve and volleyπ₯
Having served, there are only two things you can do - stay at the baseline or move to the net. Mixing it up keeps your opponent guessingβ¦
FOUR STEPS:
1. Make the decision to serve and volley before you hit the serve.
2. Assume your serve will go in, and start to move towards the net as soon as possible. If you wait to see if your serve was in before you start running to the net, you will be too late.
3. As the receiver is about to make contact with the return, `split step` - stop moving forward, so that you are in a balanced ready position, poised to react to the return.
4. Where you are when you need to split step depends on a number of factors. As a rule it is generally around the service line area. Not the ideal place to volley from - you will often have to play a low volley. Focus on hitting the low volley with good depth, then immediately move forward to a stronger volleying position nearer the net.
Congratulations Aaron & all involved!
