St Mels College at 2.30 pm

We then have the lads from .lifestyle in to sort us out with a recovery session.
TOA are our recovery partners for the season.

New players are welcome and we will be discussing training times for the season on Saturday

!!!!! COACH ANNOUNCEMENT !!!!!

We are very happy to announce that Mark Canty has been appointed head coach for our senior ladies' team for the 24/25 season.

Mark hopes to build on the success of the team while also bringing through our under18s into senior ladies and has had great success in developing youth in the club for the last 3 years as under 18 boys head coach and we wish him and the team the very best for the season going ahead.

Intro To Table Officials Programme and NBN23 confirmed for July The Commissioners Table Officials Committee (CTOC) will operate their latest 'Intro to Table Officials and NBN 23 Programme' online on Saturday July 27th, ahead of the 2024/25 National League season.

Phoenix U18 Girls Team Members, happy with their fourth place finish at the International Basketball Tournament in Gniezno last weekend.

The U15 Phoenix Players, Coach and Manager at the awards presentation of the International Basketball Tournament in Gniezno.

Our U15 and u18 girls teams were up and on the road early this morning to catch a bus leaving Longford at 1:30am heading to Dublin Airport to get the early morning flight to Poznan in Poland and then another bus journey on to Gniezno the venue for the TS Basket Gniezno 24 Tournament .
Today the teams, coaches and managers are getting their bearings and checking out the 4 playing venues. Tomorrow they will have training and Tournament sign on before their games begin on Friday.

This scrimmage is open to anyone one who is interested in playing Mens senior basketball next season and for the month of July it will just be a scrimmage and not a training session.

This is a great way to get involved with the club and have some fun along the way.

The Club can assist you with obtaining your necessary qualifications as well as helping with Vetting and Safeguarding.
We have opportunities for both Coaches and Assistant Coaches so whether you're experienced or just interested in getting in to coaching we would like to hear from you.

Intro To Table Officials Programme and NBN23 to take place in June The Commissioners Table Officials Committee (CTOC) will operate an 'Intro to Table Officials Programme' online on Saturday June 29th, including an introduction to the NBN23 system ahead of the 2024/25 National League season. 

Trials for the Midlands Post Primary Schools Regional 1st Year teams for Girls will take place this weekend on Sunday the 9th June in St.Marys Hall Portlaoise from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.
Players must have completed first year and have been born on the 1st January 2010 or later. The must also be attending a school that plays in the Midlands School League.

The Boys Trial will take place later in June but they must register now.

For those interested in Senior Basketball (18+) and with a mind towards maintaining fitness and skills, the Roosters recreational pay-as-you-go basketball continues in St. Mels College every Wednesday night from 9:00pm .

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mick Murphy, one of the founding fathers of basketball in Longford and we offer our sincere condolences to the Murphy family at this sad time.

Mick’s contribution to the development of the sport in our community over the past 50 years is immeasurable and his legacy is undeniable.

Rest in peace Mick. You will be sorely missed by everyone that knew you.
