The role of the Project Supervisor Construction Stage is to manage and co-ordinate health and safety matters during the construction stage. The project supervisor construction stage is appointed before the construction work begins and remains in that position until all construction work on the project is completed.

The project supervisor design process must be an individual or body corporate i.e. a limited company. In general, this will be a firm of architects, chartered surveyors, consulting engineers or project managers. It can also be the main contractor (e.g. in cases of design and build contracts or small projects with minimal design input). In all cases the person or company undertaking the role must have the necessary competence to carry out the relevant duties. The project supervisor design process must be appointed before design work commences. This is to ensure effectiveness in addressing and co-ordinating safety and health matters from the very early stages of a project.

IOSH PSCS-this 2 day programme aims to give the learners the knowledge and understanding of their role as Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) while using that knowledge to carry out this role.

IOSH PSDP - this programme aims to equip candidates with the knowledge to fully understand the legal responsibilities of the PSDP role and guidance on how they might fulfil this role in line with legislation and best practice.

Shorcontrol Safety is running a Lloyds British Lifting Equipment Inspection Course. This course teaches the users the criteria for Lifting Equipment (Accessories) Inspection.

Lloyds British Lifting Equipment inspection course is designed for personnel who are involved with the issue, purchasing and receiving back in of portable lifting equipment and involved in carrying out planned maintenance and inspection of in-use portable lifting equipment.

Certification: On successful completion of this course the candidate will receive a certificate from Lloyds British.

On completion of the course, the delegates will know:
a) The methods of Inspection of Lifting Equipment
b) The rejection criteria for Lifting Equipment Inspection
c) The relationship between Proof Load and Safe Working Load
d) The requirements of Test Certificates and Registers

Aims:
This course will provide delegates with the competencies needed in inspecting plant, including relevant legislation, responsibilities, inspection procedures and reporting method

Course Content:

The training is intended for those from a relevant engineering background with several years’ experience of plant maintenance, intending to be nominated by a company or organisation as a competent person to inspect plant within that company or organisation. the overall aim of course is at the end of the course, the delegate will be able to refer to relevant legislation, areas of responsibility, inspection procedures, inspection methods, recording inspections, certification and defect reports.

The training objectives are to ensure that at the end of the course delegates will have an understanding of;

Safety-Outline of PUWER regulations-Outline of LOLER regulations-Areas of responsibility-Inspection of mechanical equipment-Inspection of hydraulic equipment-Inspection of lifting Equipment-Practical Inspection exercises-Recording of inspections-Certification-reporting defects

Training consists of a balance between practical exercises and classroom tutorials

Delegates must come from a plant background and be working with plant on a day to day basis. this course will add to competency and for filling in GA 1 forms
