Was so happy to be able to attend Kiara Murphy and Su***de Bereavement Group HUGG's Fundraiser last night. First time having my feet on the sand since the end of April. This may sound like a small and insignificant thing but to me it was a wonderful moment and it made me so grateful. As Jon Kabat Zinn said "The little things? The little moments? They aren't little.…' This time of year can be challenging for people as we leave the Summer months behind with children back to school and college and shorter days/longer evenings soon ahead. It's so important to check in with ourselves and reach out to others whenever we need a life journey buddy. This could be a friend or family member or a counselling service. Occasionally the "little things" are the very things causing the greatest amount of unrest or turmoil for people. Remember all feelings are valid and we all need a helping hand at several times in our lives. Well done again to Kiara and HUGG for a lovely event. Be kind to yourself and others. Xx

Hi everyone. I hope you are all well and had a good Summer. I'm just letting you know that unfortunately I won't be returning to work in Clonea at the end of the month as per usual. I have spent most of the Summer in hospital and I am still recovering from that. Thankfully I am getting stronger slowly but surely all the time but it will be another while before I am fit enough to teach. I'm very thankful for all the well wishes, intentions and prayers from people. Additionally I'm grateful for my mindfulness, meditation and breathwork tools which have assisted greatly in my healing and recovery. Hi everyone

The past few months I've been experiencing a lot of physical pain and challenges and I have made the decision that I need to take a proper break for myself to heal and recover in all aspects of my being.

I will be finishing up classes in the next week or so in the lifeguard station with the intention of taking 6 weeks off.

I apologise for the inconvenience but it's time I take my own advice of minding oneself!

If you are on a course and will have sessions outstanding once I finish up can you please let me know and I can refund you.

🥕 April's Workshop is a collaboration with Nutrition and Health Coach Ruth O' Keeffe. Ruth works with clients to optimise their health by focusing on five
pillars; mindset, nutrition, sleep, movement and stress management. Ruth has a particular interest in the benefits of incorporating whole foods into your diet and the resulting cascade of health benefits.

🍫 During this workshop we shall be exploring the roles of both what and how we eat. There'll be mindful eating practices, using our breath to
connect with the physiology of the body in preparation of eating and how this affects our digestion. And in addition some mindfulness,
breathwork, chats and refreshments!

This workshop will cover everything you want to know about goals, from where to start, to how to make sure you achieve them.

It will include a gorgeous future self visualisation and other tools to help you choose the goal/s that align with your priorities and values.

I'm keeping numbers limited to encourage engagement and discussion during the workshop. However, there will be no requirement to get involved, so don't be put off by thinking you'll have to speak.

🌟 January Wellbeing Workshop.

🌟 January can be quite a challenging and overwhelming month especially coming after the hectic Christmas period. It's also a time of year when we can be bombarded with suggestions to get fit, change lifestyles, resolutions etc.

🌟 Again post holiday season many people will be feeling physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted and may feel they are failing somehow by not hitting the ground running and overhauling their life.

I am delighted and excited to announce a NEW Elevate Wellbeing offering.

🌟This Introduction to Mindfulness and Breathwork Course is a 5 week course commencing Wednesday 24th January, marries both practices which compliment each other greatly. It is a perfect start for anyone new to either Mindfulness or Breathwork or for anyone who wishes to develop and nurture their existing practice.

🌟The benefits of both Mindfulness and Breathwork are well researched and ultimately have the ability to assist us in feeling better and more at home in our bodies, minds and hearts. They help us to strengthen a sense of connectedness to self and others, something which many of us, myself included, may have lost along the busy and frantic way of life.

🌟 As a teacher and practitioner I feel and see first hand the changes that can occur when we go within and pause to be rather than do, to sit in silence with all the discomfort that life can bring rather than desperately seeking to run away and escape and ignore.

🌟Are these practices simple? In theory, yes but in practicality not always! However the rewards that can be reaped with a consistent practice, accepting the failures and successes en route, can make it more than worthwhile and invaluable to your health and wellbeing.

This is a wonderful few hours to take a break from the busyness of the festive season which for some can be quite a challenging and overwhelming time of year.

We will begin with exploring for some breathwork, mindfulness and meditation practices. Then experiencing the wonderful benefits of sound healing along with some connection and fun with group chanting.

Recently I was invited by to write a Mindfulness in the Workplace Series. These weekly articles outlined how beneficial mindfulness is in creating a healthier work environment. Below is a brief introduction along with some Mindful Tips to incorporate in to your daily life/work life.

Mindfulness is bringing your AWARENESS to the present moment, on purpose and in a NON JUDGMENTAL manner. Research has found that we spend approximately 47% of the time NOT in the present moment so it is inevitable this impacts our work environment and relationships.

Some of the many benefits include improved focus, concentration, creativity, memory, immune function and sleep as well as decreased stress, insomnia, chronic pain, anxiety and depression. When we can be more mindful in the work place we can begin to enjoy our work more, be more productive, creative, better at problem solving, be more pleasant to work with and subsequently take that satisfaction home with us at the end of the work day and week.

For a lot of people stress
in the workplace doesn't begin at 9am when they clock in. It can have
already begun with a poor night's sleep, waking up tired and irritable, anxious at the thought of going to their workplace whilst still sitting at the kitchen table or in the car on the drive to work. Similarly,
workplace stress doesn't end at the end of a working day. It can continue on through ruminating, rehashing of events such as meetings, conversations with colleagues and so on. This consuming behaviour can act as a thief of wellness and happiness both in and out of work.

Approach mindfulness like a form of
exercise for the brain, it is better to start off slow and build up a practice. Little and often and consistency is key. You can be mindful when driving, cooking,
eating, queueing, walking, in meetings, composing emails, in discussions with others and many other aspects of your everyday life.

🙏What a Wednesday this week!

Day started off teaching yoga and mindfulness to the wonderful Junior and Senior Infants of Scoil Garbhán. We spent 4 weeks exploring poses, the importance of being kind to yourself and others and breathing to help us feel calmer and less busy and all trí Ghaeilge. Go raibh maith agaibh páistí! 👏

Later that evening I became the student myself before graduating as a Breathwork Teacher following a wonderfully delivered Level 1 course with the amazing Níall Ó Murchú Word of thanks to Mark of
who gifted all of us boxes of beautiful incense 🙏

The reality is we are all teachers and students at any given moment and we are constantly presented with opportunities to learn from ourselves and others.

A year ago today I stepped away from the beauty business after over 15 years to focus solely on (and Patcheen obviously!😂🐶) Since then I have had the privilege of teaching hundreds of adults and children the wonderfully beneficial practices of yoga, mindfulness and meditation. I'm excited now to be able to deliver breathwork also.

As I am constantly learning, all that we desire begins with the self. Self love, care, compassion, kindness, acceptance and peace. I'm beyond grateful that my students, young and young at heart, are quite often my greatest teachers.

Two hours of Mindfulness, Breathwork, Goal Setting, Journalling and Meditation in a supportive environment with like minded people.

This is a perfect opportunity to explore or cultivate a deeper mindfulness, breathwork and meditation practice whilst using these activities to master a greater clarity on your desired goals.

Sandra whose qualifications include International Coaching Federation (ICF) certified Life Coach with advanced training in Career Coaching and Team Coaching explains her role as follows.
