With just a month to go, the excitement is building up in Castlebridge Manor 🥳❣️ as we prepare for Nursing Homes Week 2024 with residents and our activities team working hard to organise a week filled with events and activities as we celebrate life through pictures, starting on August 19th!

Our residents made lovely flower boxes for our courtyard , they look amazing 🌼 🌸 🌻

What a way to spend the bank holiday then a daytrip to the garden centre for cake and tea and a little walk around the beautiful centre, our residents had such a great day out. We would like to thank all the amazing staff at Cois Na hAbhann and the bay tree restaurant, with out a doubt the most incredible day out, food and service what fantastic and the centre is so lovely with such a great selection.

We held the official opening of "the bridge" coffee shop on Wednesday, such a lovely morning had by our residents.With lovely cakes,coffees ,teas and hot chocolates, chit-chat, and all smiles. The new coffee shop will officially be a monthly occasion,as it was a huge success, and residents really enjoyed the change of scenery and something different. Love was definitely brewing ☕️ 🫖 🎂 🥮

Yesterday we celebrated our arts in nursing home day , in line with age and opportunity. This event takes place every 3 friday in May, unfortunately due to covid restrictions we had to delay our show by a week , We held an art exhibition with our residnets art work on display, and invited our families and friends to join the day with snacks and drinks.

We also have on display our two art projects for this year which is our:
"Quilt of Love" , residnets knitted squares that we have put together and framed ,
as well as our pom pom project, we made garlands as well as our framed piece "family" every residnets had a pom pom to make some residents made the pom pom while others got to choose the colours and we helped them make it, it was a lovely way of remincsing and hearing stories of our residnets who would knitt aran jumpers, as well as all the clothes for their family.

Art is such a great way to keep our minds active and a way of expressing yourself and our residents are truly talented in their work, often we will hear " I can't do that" but with encouragement and support they create beautiful artwork and every piece they create is a true masterpiece and so much effort is put into their work as activities team we are beyond proud of the work our residents create.

What a great day spent in the lovely sunshine today. The morning our residnets painted rocks to decorate our flowers beds, and the afternoon was music, singing and ice cream a day well spent enjoying fresh air,sunshine and lots of laughter 🌞 🍦 🎨 🌼

Yesterday some of our residents enjoyed a little outing for tea and cake followed by a little bit of shopping in town yesterday, lovely day had by all. 🍵 ☕️ 🎂 🌼 🛍

Yesteday we had our Easter bonnet tea party with our residents, families and friends. Such a lovely afternoon shared with all, we even got a visit from the Easter bunny. Thank you to Jakie in the kitchen for the yummy treats, Noel for the music our staff for all the help and especially our residents, friends and families for making it such a special occasion 🐰 🐇 🐣 🥚 🐣 ✝️

Our early St Patricks day celebration yesteday with live music drinks and snacks. In preparation for a our big day on Sunday, there will be live music, drinks , buns followed by a bingo session. 🍀 ☘️ 🍀

A bit of a late post. But on Friday we celebrated women's day by treating our lovely residents to a day spa, with treats and pampering. We also celebrated all the staff on women's day, and would like to thank them all for their hard work and dedication. And on Sunday we want to wish all the mothers a very happy mother's day. 🩷🌼🌸🎉
