Join us for a captivating reading of S.Surendranath’s novella, brought to life on stage by the brilliant Arundhati Nag and translated by Prathibha Nandakumar.

Something magical happens when an audience surrenders itself to the power of words. Words read out for the listener to conjure the images locked in them. Each listener conjures and imagines their own image. Some clear, some unclear as the listener moves through the woods of the world of a special young boy.

This heartfelt tale unveils the inner world of a boy with a uniquely beautiful perspective, trapped within his room. He shares his world, both inside and outside, offering a glimpse of Muharram processions, friendly birds on his windowsill, and the teasing boys who call him 'monkey.'

But it's not just the external world he writes about. Meet his family, each with their own struggles and dreams. From his father's unwavering hope for his son's education to his mother's sacrifices, his sisters' hopes for love, and his brother's defiance, this is a story of resilience and the beauty of the 'normal' amidst chaos.
