{ART FOR SALE} Solid Silver Repoussé Ramayana Wall Plaque 24/03/2017

{ART FOR SALE} Rare Anglo Indian Burmese Solid Silver Repoussé Handcrafted Ramayana Massive Wall Hanging Plaque H 42cm x 44cm W Circa 1880s Antique 19th C
-------------------------------------
Extremely rare 19th century antique repoussé work from Burma. The scene depicts Lord Shri Rama and his brothers Lakshmana (Lakshman) and Bharata (Bharat) battling Ravana (Ravan / Rawana / Rawan) to reconquer the divine goddess Sita (Seeta / Seetha) Devi.

Height 42 x 44cm Width (16.5 x 17.3 inches)

Three of the figures in this panel wear court costumes that have tiered aprons with upswept wings - a unique Burmese feature not seen in Thai images. This is a high quality 19thC antique of superior craftsmanship with amazingly high relief.

This is a listing for antique 19th Century rare Indian Burmese Solid Silver hanging plaque / panel, massive size and extremely heavy gauge, crisp decoration, embossed in very high relief. The hinged brackets to the top are modelled like horses. The silver is thick and the workmanship exceptional, the style is typically Burmese, as often the case the silver is not hallmarked.

This is a historical piece of hand made craft. As a handicraft, this will find pride of place in any interior and bring a sense of history to any office, reception, resort, hotel, living room, drawing room, dining room, bed room, foyer, display cabinet, coffee table, and display shelf. As an interior accessory or accent it will bring a feel of antique antiquity. It reminds one of Burma, rubies, that is, the ruby gemstone. An instant connection with Japanese pagodas, the great wall of China and Myanmar.

This will be of great interest to collectors who wish to add to their priceless collections, connoisseurs, art gallery owners, museum curators, libraries, researchers, research students, teachers and professors of fine arts, and art historians in general. And for those with an interest in spirituality, religion, Buddhism, Hinduism, beliefs, rituals, ceremonies and ceremonial artisanal objects.

Possibly made by P. Orr & Sons (Madras and Rangoon). In the 19th-20th century this firm had employed/commissioned Burmese silversmiths to produce high quality silverware (statuettes, jewellery, decorative items...) for the wealthy locals, and British expats in Burma. What mastery of skill, motivation and devotion must have driven those artisans to create this beauty. Knowing its provenance creates massive respect for the people of southeast asian region of that era and through that for this piece of art.

Revolutionizing The World Of Artists by Clare Obikwere (PhD) : http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/revolutionizing-the-world-of-artists_us_583af956e4b050dfe6187cf3

Can you imagine the world without art? The world without the beautiful creativity of the human mind would be dull and boring. Have you ever wondered if art works could be bought and sold online? The internet has changed how goods and services are sold today. Art work is not an exception. You may be glad to know that you can buy, sell, and even rent art works online today. Opportunities to bid on auctions are equally available. The internet has bridged the gap between artisans and middlemen who pay them very little amount while making a “killing” out of their hard labors.

There are global marketplaces empowering artists by connecting them directly to buyers, taking middlemen out of the “equation”. Today, you don’t have to be a renown artist or artisan to make money from your art work. You can take photos, draw cartoons , and sell them online to companies that need them for marketing purposes. You can register with Fiverr, Upwork, and TaskRabbit as a freelancer to sell your art work. I know of some artists selling their art works on Facebook. The opportunities are endless. Here are major marketplaces where you can buy or sell your art works:

Amazon

Amazon is such a big online marketplace where you can virtually buy or sell anything. Amazon showcases some of the best art works. It is such a unique e-commerce site being available for most countries. There is amazon.com, amazon.it, amazon.co.uk… Check if Amazon is launched in your country. Peruse through their arts section to see all the beautiful collections they’ve got. You can even set up your online store and become one of the sellers.

eBay

eBay is another big e-commerce site where you can buy or sell your art work. Check out their arts section for varieties of art works from talented professionals. There is eBay.in, eBay.com,...check to see if there is eBay in your country to easily buy or sell your art work. In their arts section, you can buy comic, coins, antiques, and sports memorabilia.

Craigslist

Craigslist is another good online platform where you can sell your art work. Craigslist also exists in some countries. Check to see if your country is covered.

Etsy

Etsy is really a good platform for artists who want to sell their handicrafts. You’ll have to look up for more sites in addition to Etsy for more sales opportunities. At Etsy, you can set up a store to sell all your art works. Who knows, your store may do so well that it can be featured in Etsy blog. If this happens, then more leads are very possible.

Zazzle

Another unique market place is Zazzle. Zazzle has a tool for branding t-shirts, posters, and coffee nugs—“make engine”. Get closer to professional artists by participating in their blog conversations.

Nakshi

Nakshi is a global marketplace for all art lovers. Nakshi is empowering artists and artisans by implementing fair trade practices, making sure that they receive what they’re worth by putting away the services of middlemen. Nakshi is a one-stop solution to buying, bidding, renting, auctioning, selling, and printing all kinds of art works. It’s the first of its kind. It is revolutionary and technology-optimized. With Nakshi’s subscription-free model, new talents can now join the bandwagon of art sellers.

Museum spotlight : Sanskriti Museum of Everyday Art > http://www.sanskritifoundation.org/museums-everyday-art.htm > This Museum was established in 1984 to create an environment for the preservation of India’s heritage, and to showcase objects that demonstrate excellence in craftsmanship and conceptual innovation, be it in design or functionality.

Objects of everyday life connected with the manners and customs, beliefs and practices of the urban and rural populations of India are displayed in the Sanskriti Museum of Everyday Art. Creativity and culture permeate every aspect of Indian life. The practical and innovative objects on display exemplify the exuberant imagination and aesthetic creativity of craftspeople from all over India. Covering objects used throughout the cycle of life-from childhood to old age-the collection begins with objects from the child's world into that of the student and young adult, proceeds into that of the settled householder and then moves towards the grand finale of life, when spiritual pursuits traditionally take over.

CHIDAMBARA RAHASYAM
(The secret of Chidambaram)

After 8 years of R & D, Western scientists have proved that at Lord Nataraja 's big toe is the Centre Point of World 's Magnetic Equator.

Our ancient Tamil Scholar Thirumoolar has proved this Five thousand years ago! His treatise Thirumandiram is a wonderful Scientific guide for the whole world.

To understand his studies, it may need a 100 years for us.

Chidambaram temple embodies the following characteristics :

1) This temple is located at the Center Point of world 's Magnetic Equator.

2) Of the "Pancha bootha" i.e. 5 temples, Chidambaram denotes the Skies. Kalahasthi denotes Wind. Kanchi Ekambareswar denotes land. All these 3 temples are located in a straight line at 79 degrees 41 minutes Longitude. This can be verified using Google. An amazing fact & astronomical miracle !

3) Chidambaram temple is based on the Human Body having 9 Entrances denoting 9 Entrances or Openings of the body.

4) Temple roof is made of 21600 gold sheets which denotes the 21600 breaths taken by a human being every day (15 x 60 x 24 = 21600)

5) These 21600 gold sheets are fixed on the Gopuram using 72000 gold nails which denote the total no. of Nadis (Nerves) in the human body. These transfer energy to certain body parts that are invisible.

6) Thirumoolar states that man represents the shape of Shivalingam, which represents Chidambaram which represents Sadashivam which represents HIS dance !

7) "Ponnambalam " is placed slightly tilted towards the left. This represents our Heart. To reach this, we need to climb 5 steps called "Panchatshara padi "

"Si, Va, Ya, Na, Ma " are the 5 Panchatshara mantras.

There are 4 pillars holding the Kanagasabha representing the 4 Vedas.

8) Ponnambalam has 28 pillars denoting the 28 "Ahamas "as well as the 28 methods to worship Lord Shiva. These 28 pillars support 64 +64 Roof Beams which denote the 64 Arts. The cross beams represent the Blood Vessels running across the Human body.

9) Nine Kalasas on the Golden Roof represent the 9 types of Sakthi or Energies.

The 6 pillars at the Artha Mantapa represent the 6 types of Sashtras.

The 18 pillars in the adjacant Mantapa represents 18 Puranams.

10) The dance of Lord Nataraja is described as Cosmic Dance by Western Scientists.

Whatever Science is propounding now has been stated by Hinduism thousands of years ago ! Hinduism is not just religion. It's a way of living....
