- Meet Suraj Wodeyar, the epitome of dedication and passion! As an entrepreneur revolutionizing sanitation with innovative robotics, Suraj's heart beats not only for his startup but also for a cause close to his soul - environmental conservation.

When not engineering solutions, Suraj is a fervent volunteer, actively working towards a greener world. Arun Pandian, born and brought up in Chennai, his journey intertwines education in law, a brief army stint, and a calling at Bhumi. For 8 years, before joining as full-time employee, Arun immersed himself in dance-led volunteer work for the project deStep, evolving from a volunteer to the National Support Team Coordinator.

Passion for social impact fueled his transition from volunteer to Bhumi employee. Beyond dance, Arun's artistry shines in crafts and artworks. An artist at heart and a craftsperson out of pure interest. Arun uses his talents to sprinkle a bit of wonder and delight into the lives of those around him.

Proud of Nakshatra, Bhumi’s platform spotlighting children's talents, Arun believes in providing the right stage to these children to showcase their talents beyond academics.

Weekdays are packed with Bhumi tasks, but his weekends are about relaxing and binging on good movies.

His heart stayed tied to his roots, fostering change within his community. From volunteering to leadership in project Lakshya under Ignite, Thilip's commitment soared and transitioned to a full-time role in Bhumi from April 2023 marking a new milestone.

Beyond work, his passions for horse riding, shooting and aviation outshine. Thilip's love for horse riding traces back to his childhood days, fostered by his grandfather's influence. His quest for professional expertise led him to pursue formal training, igniting a passion that continues to shape his life.

Bhumi - Larsen & Toubro partnership in Chennai's underprivileged neighbourhoods, over the past 5 years, this collaboration has touched the lives of over 2,000 students across 12+ communities. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to L&T for their unwavering support in this journey of empowerment and growth.

Through 10 Community Learning Centres (CLCs) and two Government school-based remedial centers, educational support is provided to students from grades 3 to 8. Classes in Tamil, English, Maths, and computer fundamentals have been supplemented with vital Socio Emotional Learning (SEL) components, nurturing crucial life skills.

But our vision doesn't stop there. We are excited to announce the evolution of our efforts by transforming these CLCs into Community Multi-Purpose Skill Centres. This expansion aims to cater to job-seeking youth, pre-final and final year college students, and women within the community. Focused on digital literacy, soft skills training, and interview preparation, these centers will serve as hubs for holistic development.

Our pilot initiative in Pattalam, Chennai, has already set sail, achieving remarkable milestones with the successful completion of the first batch of 25 students.

On December 1, with the invaluable support of Otis Elevator Co., Bhumi embarked on a journey to foster sustainable change in Coimbatore.

We are excited to share our collective efforts in setting up a Herbal Garden at Corporation Higher Secondary School, Peelamedu, as part of our STEM initiative.

Seven dedicated volunteers invested a total of nine hours across two locations in Coimbatore. Their commitment and hard work culminated in the establishment of a vibrant and enriching Herbal Garden, breathing life into our vision of a greener tomorrow.

This endeavour is about nurturing knowledge, fostering sustainability, and inspiring the next generation to embrace nature's gifts.

The recent Sarvavidya Fest 2023 held in Coimbatore was an ode to ISRO's achievements in space exploration, and it was a privilege to witness the ingenuity of young minds at the i-Robochakra National Level Roboscience contest.

We are thrilled to announce that amidst fierce competition, the 9th-grade students from Corporation SRP Ammaniammal Girls Higher Secondary School, R.S. Puram, part of Bhumi's STEM initiative, clinched the 1st prize in the senior level category.

Their ground-breaking project on "Manhole Monitoring System using IoT" showcased their dedication, creativity, and commitment to solving real-world challenges. It's inspiring to see such innovative solutions being crafted by the future leaders of our society.

A special acknowledgment to the event's Chief Guest, Mr. M.S. Srinivasan, Former Group Director, Power Systems, ISRO, whose presence added immense value and encouragement to the young talents participating in this prestigious event.

Bhumi recently orchestrated an enriching Tutors Training event in Chennai, spotlighting the dedication to empowering our educational ambassadors.

The comprehensive training encompassed crucial subjects, including Mathematics (Fraction), Digital Literacy (MS Office), English Reading (ELF team), and invaluable Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) sessions. Each session meticulously designed to bolster the proficiency of our esteemed tutors.

The participation of tutors from 45 Community Centers and Remedial Schools reflect their commitment to enhancing educational support within their communities.
