In this Master Class, hear experts talk about what constitutes a MLC, why is FIR & inquest important, what is the role of forensics in brain death organ donation and how can the donation process in such cases be streamlined.

Learn from senior transplant coordinators as they share their experience of coordinating donations in medico legal cases involving su***de, murder or accidents that have taken place in a different jurisdiction.

Swap transplants are legally allowed in India with due permission, with near-relatives allowed as donor-recipient pairs. However, there are very few Swap transplants being done in the country and that too in very select hospitals. This is a significant opportunity missed.

Institute of Kidney Diseases & Research Centre (IKDRC) has been taking the lead in Swap transplants. In cases where a donor-recipient pair is incompatible because of differences in blood type or other tissue sensitivities, donors within the exchange are swapped among incompatible pairs to allow for more transplants.

In this upcoming Master Class, learn from Dr. Subho Banerjee what needs to be done in terms of legalities, coordination and counseling in case of Swap transplants in your hospital so that many more patients can benefit. Mr. Hardik Jethva will share his experiences as a Transplant Coordinator speaking with families.
