India observes National Cancer Awareness Day on 7 Nov every year to raise awareness.
This date is also the the birth date of Nobel Laureate Marie Curie whose work led to the development of Radiotherapy to treat cancer.
An estimated 11 lacs cases are reported in the country each year. 70% of the factors that lead to cancer are preventable, majorly the use of To***co which alone accounts for almost 27%.
Be aware about Early Detection as it leads to an easy and successful treatment.
