There are many institutes offering short term certificate courses on Nutrition.
Beware ! Most of them are not recognised and are quack courses.
The qualifications mandatory for an individual to practice as a Dietician/Nutritionist in India are as follows.
Post Graduate Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics (after bachelors degree in science)
OR
Masters Degree in Food Science Nutrition (after bachelors degree in science)
OR
Master's Degree in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics ( after bachelors degree in science)
OR
BSc in applied nutrition and dietetics
Or
Post graduation in sports nutrition
The above credentials must be obtained from a Recognized University
In addition to this, three to six months of clinical experience in a multi-specialty hospital
You won't go to a doctor who has learnt medicine in three or six months so how can one trust a dietitian who has done a short term course with their health
Remember, Nutrition is a science and one cannot become a dietitian/nutritionist in three or six months.
πΎ **International Millet Conference Highlights** πΎ
What an incredible experience it was to attend the International Millet Conference alongside some of the most eminent faces in the field of nutrition and health! With luminaries like Dr. Khadar Valli, Padma Shri Awardee and the renowned "Millet Man of India," Dr. Raj Bhandari, a distinguished member of the National Technical Board on Nutrition and Health at Niti Aayog (Government of India), and Dr. Satyen Yadav, the visionary founder director of the India Millet Initiative in Noida, it was truly an educational feast.
Dr. Valli's insights were nothing short of enlightening. He reminded us that millets are not just grains; they are our ancient food, deeply rooted in our heritage. The Green Revolution may have changed our mindset, but it's time to reconsider our dietary choices and replace rice and wheat with millets.
In addition to the enriching talks, I'm delighted to share that I had the privilege of presenting a poster at the conference and received the third prize! A big shoutout to IIS University for this incredible opportunity and recognition.
Here are some snapshots from this memorable event. Let's continue to support and promote the goodness of millets for a healthier future! π±β¨
