Minimal | Minimalist Shoes may be Best for Runners (and most other Athletes)! Here's why...
who wear minimalist running shoes (no cushioning) and land on the fore-foot / mid-foot, rather than the heel, put significantly less demand on their bodies: reduces loading rates and may therefore, reduce the risk of injury, research suggests (Hannah Rice et al. Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise., 2016).
PS: A is one that provides "minimal interference with the natural movement of the foot, because of its high flexibility, low heel to toe drop, weight and stack height, and the absence of motion control and stability devices" (Knapik JJ, et al., Injuries And Footwear (Part 2): Minimalist Running Shoes. Although I'm not a runner, I use minimalist shoes for all my activities: resistance training, walking and sprinting majorly... And I love 'em.

Here's a couple of crucial messages, we, at Conditioning Clinic, have decided to dessiminate amongst the general population...
1. Diabetes is more inherently connected with overweight and obesity, as opposed to genetics; this should discourage you from shrugging your shoulders, rolling your eyes and yelling out, 'GENETICS!' and be done with it...
You've got work to do: reducing your belly fat, reducing your belly inches, may still help you reverse diabetes...
And,
2. Type 2 diabetes is mostly reversible! How?! Well, look up infographic 2...
Sad indeed, but true: most doctors are woefully out of touch, with the science and the inherent connection between nutrition, overweight-obesity and the development of metabolic disorders.
Here's me, post a talk-presentation, to a group of doctors, on the very subject: the interplay and connection between positive calorific balance, obesity and diabetes and other metabolic disorders...
What are your thoughts on caffeine?! Are you a habitual user? Do you reckon it can benefit you? Or, do you believe it can cause harm?!

Stop being an 'active couch potato'... Stop being the typical 'regular gym-goer', who then lazes about the rest of the day. But thinks he/she leads an active life! You people still remain at risk of metabolic disorders (diabetes, heart disease, cancers and what-have-yous!).

'In those who exercise regularly, yet do not reduce sitting time (active couch potato), the risk of metabolic disorders - diabetes, heart disease, cancers, others - still remains high!' - Dr. Dee, Conditioning Clinic.
The Concept of the 'Active Couch Potato'!
For a hypothetical ‘physically active’ adult, a 45-minute exercise session prior to work, ensures that the minimum recommended level of exercise (30 minutes per day on 5 days per week) is achieved early in the day. However, this person then sits during much of the rest of the day; he / she spends up to 95% of his waking hours sitting. However, because this person exercised for a sustained period of at least 30 minutes, current public health guidelines consider him ‘physically active’, when in actuality, the term ‘active couch potato’ is more appropriate.
