Around me, the trees stir in their leaves
and call out, “Stay awhile.”
The light flows from their branches.
And they call again, “It’s simple,” they say,
“and you too have come
into the world to do this, to go easy, to be filled
with light, and to shine.”

May all beings far and near be held in great lovingkindness.
In our times, differences and conflicts seem increasingly pervasive in relationships, communities, workplaces, and social and political arenas. Given that these conflicts often lead to reactivity—which can then manifest in avoidance or acting out, frustration, anger, blaming, and/or withdrawal—how can we bring our practice to this area?
During "Bringing Wisdom, Empathy, and Skillful Speech to Differences and Conflicts" (online Oct. 14-15) with Donald Rothberg, PhD, we will explore core principles and practices for working with difficult mental, emotional, and somatic states through engagement with meditation, empathy (which can co-exist with disagreement), and wise speech.

Clearing
by Morgan Farley
I am clearing a space
here, where the trees stand back.
I am making a circle so open
the moon will fall in love
and stroke these grasses with her silver.
I am setting stones in the four directions,
stones that have called my name
from mountaintops and riverbeds, canyons and mesas.
Here I will stand with my hands empty,
mind gaping under the moon.
I know there is another way to live.
When I find it, the angels
will cry out in rapture,
each cell of my body
will be a rose, a star.
If something seized my life tonight,
if a sudden wind swept through me,
changing everything,
I would not resist.
I am ready for whatever comes.
But I think it will be
something small, an animal
padding out from the shadows,
or a word spoken so softly
I hear it inside.
It is dark out here, and cold.
The moon is stone.
I am alone with my longing.
Nothing is happening
but the next breath.
Sending some your way today and every day.

In Blackwater Woods by Mary Oliver
To live in this world
you must be able
to do three things:
to love what is mortal;
to hold it
against your bones knowing
your own life depends on it;
and, when the time comes to let it go,
to let it go.

Bhaloo💗
Before this Pandemic hit us the world over, I had the chance to visit the hills and embrace the beauty of nature in its essence, in transitoriness and immortality.
The Spring has been here like every year but the freedom to view has been limited, marred by the rising number of infections, fear psychosis and our hearts cracking open in full vulnerability.
This is the time to invite our hearts to be with what we have already experienced, what is always available from our windows, doors and memory boxes.
Take a moment to pause and think of the time when you truly felt the joy of Spring in your heart, mind and body; when the flower-laden trees welcomed you and you drove past to work. Think of the time when you walked on a fresh morning grass and enjoyed your cup of tea, read your newspaper and didn't notice the autumnal leaves in the compost bin.
There are innumerable moments to relive, replay, cherish and be with. Of course, a sense of deep sadness will also show its presence as you revisit the memories of Spring in your mind.Let this be the time to create healing space for all our emotions. Whatever turns up,welcome it,acknowledge it and breathe through it.
May we all be free from suffering!
May we all be happy, eased and peaceful!
