It's not possible to share all the success stories on regular basis, but this *83 years* old YOUNG MAN deserves special attention. What a stamina... And.. what a will power. Hats off to you sir. He is going home today, 6 days after CABG. He is the oldest patient till date on whom I have operated. May god bless him. My best wishes to the patient and his daughter, Dr. Oli Rani Das.

Good evening everyone. Can’t resist myself from sharing the story of this brave heart, Mr. Haripada Das. He was admitted to our department with extensive anterolateral MI with CHB with cardiogenic shock with MODS. When I had to take the decision for an emergency CABG, he was hemodynamically unstable despite being put on high inotrope support. His cardiac enzymes were critically elevated ( Trop I, CPK, CPK MB 23, 1850 and 98 respectively), so were the liver enzymes ( SGOT and SGPT both more than 1500), he was on mechanical ventilation and there was AKI ( creatinine was 3.0). Anyway we had to go for the surgery despite knowing all the odds. I got full support from the relatives and the entire team of mine. Thanks to them. To our utter surprise the patient responded extremely well to the procedure. The CHB reverted within 2 hours of surgery ( which is very rare in case of left sided block), he was extubated the next morning and pressor supports were continued for 48 hours. Hats off to the will power and stamina of this gentleman. He was discharged on POD7 in a stable condition. Day before yesterday he came for the first follow up. He is improving gradually with acceptable blood and echo parameters. We, team cardiac surgery, Anandaloke Hospital, wish for his quick recovery. May Lord Krishna ( he is a Baishnab by religion) bless him🙏🙏
