This is one of the 'Industry Expert Talks' organized by the School of Business.
Designers & other professionals struggle with setting up a Business while She has set one with the non-conventional yet traditional concept of Letter writing. Students & faculty were enthused to listen to her experience including the recent SharkTank one. Her husband has been very supportive of them (hers & Harnehmat Kaur) & was literally there for the pitch.

Entrepreneurial culture is growing in India. To cultivate this spirit among the youth early, World University of Design (WUD) is organizing the PRODIGY - National Business Plan Competition' 2024. It aims to stimulate the young minds to think creatively and work towards innovative business ideas in the most promising segments such as Design &AI, Sports, and Food.
The competition is open for participation in two categories
1. School students- Class IX, X, XI and XII
2. College going students- UG programs only
Participants may register individually or in teams of not more than four students. To register, fill the application form via https://forms.gle/MRc8gSQFdoCwoGLc7.
After successful registration, applicants are required to send a 200 word write-up on their business idea, and the filled-up business plan template in the attached format to [email protected]. Shortlisted candidates will be called to present their pitches at the WUD campus for the final round of competition. The criteria for judgment will be innovation, creativity, and scalability of the idea.

celebrated the International Women's Day with , a panel discussion among top six design illuminati bringing in their experiences, learnings and future projections on the issue of "Is the SHE invisible in design? The arguments got quite intense as the planned 45 min expanded effortlessly to 90 min when things had to be forcefully stopped. Thank you Anthony Lopez, Sandhya Raman, Amit Krishn Gulati, Aishwarya Tipnis, Anuradha Kumra, Lo**ta Dutta for setting the tone on this important issue. I am sure everyone went home with a few things on their mind.

WUD decided to raise this issue as in a goes beyond mere recognition of , it is crucial for creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. It involves understanding, respecting, and accommodating the unique needs and perspectives of individuals across the gender spectrum.

On the occasion, WUD also announced institution of Awards, to be conferred on women practicing in the creative domain in India and demonstrating qualities like innovative excellence, impactful leadership, diversity and inclusivity, social impact, consistent excellence, cross-disciplinary collaboration, mentorship & advocacy, cultural preservation, adaptability to change, and innovative use of technology. is interpreted as creativity and innovation and represents power of the feminine. “SrijanShakti '' alludes to the powerful relationship between creativity and the woman.

Congratulations Anushka Das, Preksha Baid (Director, Y-walls Design), Jaya Kanwar, Shambhavi Gupta (She/her), Sonal Tuli and Aditi Vitasta Dhar on being the first recipients of SrijanShakti Awards.

Meeting the stalwart, Dr. Vijaya Deshmukh definitely is surreal as it can be. She has been at leading positions in NID, National Institute of Design (NID) Ahmedabad , (I was her student therein), Director at NIFT Jodhpur , & many more. She currently is the Director, MGMU IBT.
A woman leader always brings empathy, understanding, care yet seamless Leadership to the place. When visiting her, we observed how everything got organised so seamlessly. ❤️
My moment of blessing was, when she introduced me as - She is my student & I am proud of her achievements.

I know International Womens Day is now around & we truly need not find special days to celebrate women. But there are so many women achievers, knowledge banks, empathetic women whom we meet on everyday basis & either fail to acknowledge their contribution to us or are not credited enough.

I am going to be posting about such women who I think are exceptional & one should meet and be inspired from. I have met them in person (simply been fortunate) & will be posting our pictures together.

School of Business at World University of Design had the privilege of visiting Desmania, a distinguished design company located in Sector 8, Imt Manesar, Gurugram, Haryana. Celebrated for its innovative designs, Desmania has garnered numerous awards, showcasing its prowess in the field of design.
The students pursuing Design Strategy and Management gained valuable insights during their visit to Desmania Design Company. They had the opportunity to learn about various aspects of business management within the context of a design firm. The visit provided them with practical knowledge about the industry, its operations, and the integration of business principles in a creative and design-oriented environment. Through interactions with professionals at Desmania Design Company, the students were able to grasp real-world applications of business management concepts, enhancing their understanding and preparing them for future endeavors in the field.

When Prof. Anil Sahasrabudhe tells you that you have established a world-class institution in a very short period of time, you know you have done something right. Coming from a man who has seen it all, it was a big compliment for us on our big day.
Prof. Sahasrabudhe was at the WUD convocation today, enthralling the graduating students and their proud parents with his convocation address, full of words of wisdom and inspiration.
He also spent an hour going around the institution, meeting faculty and interacting with students, looking at the facilities and the work of students. Thank you Prof Sahasrabudhe for being such an inspiration.

Marshmallow, a team-building activity, was hosted by the School of Business at World University of Design, Sonipat .The event aimed to foster collaboration and creativity among the students. Participants were given a set of marshmallows and spaghetti and were challenged to build the tallest structure possible using only these materials. It was a fun and engaging activity that allowed students to think outside the box and work together towards a common goal.
