Hi everybody! I disappeared for a while; it is summer, and I am literally overwhelmed by colors!
Life is beautiful, and "we have a miracle on earth; Mother Nature does it all for us." No one can explain this feeling better than Freddy Mercury and Queen with this masterpiece that "the miracle" is.
This is my new piece, totally focused on colors. Hope you enjoy it.
Acrylics on canvas, 80x100
What I love most is delivering my works of art directly to my customers. This time, the customer, an Italian art collector, wanted to remain anonymous! Goodbye "Flamingo," I'll miss you...
Last weekend, I felt the need to visit one of my masterpieces, commissioned by a client a few years ago. Inspired by Michelangelo, one of my deities, it was an immense satisfaction. At the time, the client couldn't believe it; it was a work for his family's tomb, a great responsibility for such an intimate subject. It was really nice to do this kind of "sad" work and to have such enthusiastic and happy feedback from the client.
Death is part of us; without it, life loses its meaning. Everything that happens to us is part of the circle; let's accept it, and life will have a new, deeper meaning.

I returned to Italy in 2020 and came to live in a little house in the middle of nowhere, in the fields but near the sea. I love walking with my dogs, especially in spring. The colors are unique, and nature is awakening, so I took inspiration from the environment around my house. I found many agaves here, which remind me of Mexico. The green of these plants surprises me every time, and there is a spot where the hills fall toward the sea. The sun's reflection on the sea has always left me breathless since childhood. Observing nature is vital for spirit and body, which I would like to convey through my work, peace, and serenity, in one word: balance.

Behind my house there are many vineyards. The winery to which they belong is surrounded by magnificent prickly pears, which in between August and September are dressed in red, loading themselves with the sweetest fruits, well protected from the thorns. I am fascinated by the contrast between the summer sky and the vivid green of the plants, and that deep red of the ripe fruits, which breaks up the whole. Beauty is everywhere around us, we need to create the time to look for it.

Puerto Escondido, the hidden port, arriving from the East coast of Mexico, crossing the Sierra North. Once we got to the top, a long and winding descent to the ocean began, which took us through coniferous forests that slowly mixed with tropical plants until they turned into the typically tropical jungle of flowers, fruits, and plants so colorful that they intoxicated. It's a long drive, and the constant curves urge you to slow down, giving magnificent views. Then all of a sudden, after hours of curves and lush greenery, between the mountains, you begin to glimpse the pacific ocean, majestic and cruel. And there, in that little corner of the world, you land at this port hidden by the mountains, like a pearl, a jewel, a magical place.

I left Vera Cruz with great sadness for the wonderful people who shared part of the journey with me. I went to Yucatan, and along the way, as usual in Mexico, this country of infinite beauty and contrasts, I found myself in a magical place, a great salt marsh. A promenade of pink water, populated by a massive population of flamingos. I had never seen such flamboyant creatures before; I think I stood there for hours and looked at them in fascination! This painting was born from a detail of "Mi Mexico", which, although it is a kind of map of the trip, can never contain all the beauty that filled my soul during those 2 years spent on the roads of this enchanted place frozen in time.

I painted this picture during the first lockdown. I thought only afterward how the statue represented the sense of helplessness I felt during that surreal experience, and that's when I realized that the work was unfinished. So I added the bubble with the goldfish inside. The title, "WISH," is an homage to Pink Floyd because from that moment on, a line from "Wish you were here" often comes back to my mind. "We are just two lost souls swimming in a fish ball, year after year. ...". Man has become disaccustomed to beauty. So much of what is wrong with our society is due to this lost habit. Yet, we are wonderfully unique creatures, and we are capable of creating beauty, and our souls thirst for it!

In 2016, I felt the deep need to "fly", so I decided to buy a car, install a mattress, a small kitchen in the back and start traveling through Mexico. This country got under my skin. I spent a week on this beautiful beach in the south of Quintana Roo; as you can see, it is a paradise. Moreover, the beach owner allowed us to stay for free in this piece of heaven. You may be surprised if I tell you that this happens so often in Mexico that you get used to it, which seems miraculous for someone like me who comes from Europe. The Mexicans and all the foreigners we met during this trip in this wonderful country have given us back the love of human beings and hope. Don't forget that humanity is still alive; you just have to look for it through beauty...
