At Voi Social Service Ground Polling 1 - Taita County has started the counting process with the president casted votes.

partnership with the Indipendent electoral
and Boundaries commission (IEBC), Taita
taveta youth alliance and the office of the
registrar of political parties today
conducted a civic education on the election
process at Sofia Bona hall.
Women and youth in attendance were able
to learn how to correctly mark and cast a
valid vote, election malpractices and
offenses and importantly they were urged
to maintain peace during this period of
campaigns and after elections

Voi community social justice center together with other Voi court users committee members yesterday visited Mwanyambo and Voi primary special schools for a CSR programme.
Both the pupils and teachers could not hide their joy for the visit and the gifts .

Today HAKI Africa Voi office met with officials from the Kenya National Union of Nurses, Taita Taveta Branch. They explained that Taita Taveta County has 426 nurses and 84 Clinical officers making a total of 510. They claim the County needs 700 nurses and COs for it's hospitals to function properly.
The nurses lack comprehensive medical cover despite being on the frontline in the fight against Covid-19. They also said that many residents are dying because of lack of facilities such as oxygen tanks and drugs. Also their deductions like PAYE and loan payments are not being remitted by the County Government. They get a risk allowance of Ksh. 3850 only despite the SRC having revised it to Ksh. 5000. And the list goes on and on.

Today we conducted a travelling theater at Maweni Informal Settlement Voi. The theater was held in partnership with Social Justice Center Working Group and Taita Taveta County Department of Youth, Sports, Gender, Culture and Social Services. The theme of the theater was corruption and how it affects access to Justice especially for individuals living in poor neighborhoods.

Our Coordinator represented HAKI Africa in this conference.

Today we distributed food to our volunteers and residents of Voi town. The food which includes maize flour, rice, sugar, beans, green grams, cooking oil and soap was donated to us by Social Justice Centres Working Group under the Pamoja Tuangamize Corona Project. Viva Social Justice Movement!

On 16th July 2020 we distributed face masks donated to us by the Social Justice Centre Working Group under the project " Pamoja Tuangamize Corona" to residents of Maweni Slum in Voi Sub County. We also Distributed stickers bearing Corona Virus messages to various businesses in Voi town.
