Last Friday, we had a really enjoyable movie night at the Olive Branch Social Space. 🎬🍿 We gathered together with our second family and transformed our terrace into a little movie theater. It was a night of togetherness and cozy vibes. ✨🎭

Continuing our Sahra project each month, we step into the homes of four families, forging spaces for authentic conversations. It is within the resilience of our community, that we find inspiration to strengthen our commitment, focusing on empowering individual through educational activities and bridging social gaps. Against the backdrop of crises in the recent years, especially the lack of access to formal education for many children, these visits offer nuanced insights into the changes and struggles our beneficiaries endure. A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated team and for their unwavering support in this transformative journey! 🌍🤝📚

⭐ Celebrating the success of the Sahra project in Bekaa, we're thrilled to announce its expansion to Beirut! Sahra, embodies our commitment to fostering intimate bonds within our community.

Every month, we step into the homes of four families among our beneficiaries, creating spaces for meaningful dialogue. These visits allow us to deepen our understanding of their unique stories, fortify our connections, and gain insight into their challenges—especially amidst the crises that have impacted Lebanon in recent years.

During our recent visit, we had the privilege of spending time with a remarkable Kurdish family. Both parents work tirelessly to ensure a nurturing environment and quality education for their four incredibly talented daughters. These girls actively participate in our center's activities, and notably, the mother has become a dedicated volunteer, contributing as an Arabic teacher to provide literacy classes for children in our community who lack access to education.

This story is just one example of how our beneficiaries actively contribute to building a resilient and vibrant community.

A big thank you to our team and for supporting us in this project! 🙏🏻🇳🇴

⭐️ احتفالاً بنجاح مشروع سهرة في البقاع، يسعدنا أن نعلن عن توسعه إلى بيروت! سهرة، تجسد التزامنا بتعزيز الروابط الحميمة داخل مجتمعنا.
في كل شهر، ندخل إلى منازل أربع عائلات من المستفيدين، مما يخلق مساحات للحوار الهادف. تتيح لنا هذه الزيارات تعميق فهمنا لقصصهم الفريدة، وتعزيز علاقاتنا، والحصول على نظرة ثاقبة للتحديات التي يواجهونها - خاصة في ظل الأزمات التي أثرت على لبنان في السنوات الأخيرة.

خلال زيارتنا الأخيرة، كان لنا شرف قضاء بعض الوقت مع عائلة كردية مميزة. يعمل كلا الوالدين بلا كلل لضمان بيئة رعاية وتعليم جيد لبناتهم الأربع الموهوبات بشكل لا يصدق. تشارك هؤلاء الفتيات بنشاط في أنشطة مركزنا، والجدير بالذكر أن الأم أصبحت متطوعة متفانية، حيث تساهم كمعلمة للغة العربية في توفير دروس محو الأمية للأطفال في مجتمعنا الذين يفتقرون إلى إمكانية الوصول إلى التعليم.

هذه القصة هي مجرد مثال واحد على كيفية مساهمة المستفيدين لدينا بنشاط في بناء مجتمع مرن وحيوي.

👋 Farewell, Fares! 🌟

Today, we bid a fond farewell to Fares, an invaluable member of our team. His dedication to our mission has been truly remarkable. From ESL classes for teens and adults to crafting engaging games for our hangouts, Fares has consistently gone above and beyond.

But it's not just about what he did; it's about how he did it. His proactive spirit and unwavering positive attitude have not only inspired our Olive Branch members but have also brightened the days of all our volunteers.

We'll miss his presence, his brilliant ideas, and his infectious positivity. Although this may be a goodbye for now, we eagerly await the day when Fares returns to our Olive Branch family.

اليوم، نُودِّع فارس بكل حزن، فهو كان عضوًا لا يُقدّر بثمن في فريقنا. كان تفانيه في مهمتنا مُذهلاً حقًا. من دروس تعلم اللغة الإنجليزية للمراهقين والبالغين إلى إعداد الألعاب الممتعة لجلسات التجمع، قد تجاوز فارس دائمًا التوقعات.

ولكن الأمر لا يتعلق فقط بما فعله؛ إنما يتعلق الأمر بكيفية قيامه بهذا. روحه الفاعلة وموقفه الإيجابي الذي لا يتزعزع لم يلهم فقط أعضاء فريقنا في الزيتونة بل وأيضًا زرع البهجة في أيام جميع متطوعينا.

سنفتقد وجوده، وأفكاره الرائعة، وإيجابيته العفوية. على الرغم من أن هذا قد يكون وداعًا مؤقتًا، ننتظر بشوق اليوم الذي يعود فيه فارس إلى عائلتنا في الزيتونة.

Over the past 2 months, she's been the creative force behind our social media as the Communications Officer. A talented Documentary Photographer 📷 and an avid traveler, she has sprinkled her magic on our platforms, giving us a fresh artistic perspective on things.

Her infectious smile and unwavering positivity in chaotic environments have truly touched our hearts! While we'll miss her, we're crossing our fingers for her return to collaborate on many more exciting projects together. Her presence has been nothing short of incredible for our center and the entire community.

👤Today we want to introduce one of our beneficiaries: Dlaza.
Dlaza is a 19 years old Kurdish girl from Syria. She joined Olive Branch 6 months ago thanks to a friend. She has been attending our Intermediate classes in order to improve her English. When we asked her what Olive Branch means to her, she told us:

“What I like most about Olive Branch is that it's an open community where you can feel free and comfortable. It feels like a home for me. Olive Branch has a special touch in my life because it's the place where I found wonderful people with whom I made unforgettable memories.”

Our beneficiaries are the pillar of our project and our aim is to create a positive impact in their life and to build a strong and inclusive community. 🤝🌿

👤اليوم نريد أن نقدم أحد المستفيدين لدينا: دلازا
دلازا فتاة كردية من سوريا تبلغ من العمر 19 عامًا. لقد انضمت إلى Olive Branch منذ 6 أشهر بفضل أحد الأصدقاء. لقد كانت تحضر دروسنا المتوسطة من أجل تحسين لغتها الإنجليزية.
وعندما سألناها ماذا يعني لها غصن الزيتون قالت لنا:

"أكثر ما يعجبني في Olive Branch هو أنه مجتمع مفتوح حيث يمكنك أن تشعر بالحرية والراحة. إنه يبدو وكأنه منزل بالنسبة لي. "غصن الزيتون له لمسة خاصة في حياتي لأنه المكان الذي وجدت فيه أشخاصًا رائعين وصنعت معهم ذكريات لا تُنسى."
