Region 6B collaborated on a joint program with National Television Nugasewana. Our club director, Lion Dilhani, generously donated 10 dry ration packs for needy families, while Lion Hardhini contributed by donating audio books to support blind individuals. Here are some photos from the event.

International Day of Disabled Persons

December 3, 2023

The aimed of this day is to promote awareness, understand and acceptance of individuals with disabilities.
This day serves as a platform to highlight the challenges faced by people with discussion while also celebrities their contribution to socially.

World AIDS Day, 1st December

Observed annually on December 1st, serves as a global moment to raise awareness about the HIV/AIDS, commemorate those who have lost their lives to the disease, and demonstrate solidarity with the millions of people worldwide living with HIV.

This day provides an opportunity to reflect on the progress made in the fight against HIV/AIDS, as well as the challenges that persist. The theme for World AIDS Day often revolves around promoting awareness, encouraging testing and early diagnosis, reducing stigma and discrimination, and advocating for improved access to treatment and support services.

Despite significant advancements in medical research and treatment options, HIV/AIDS remains a critical global health issue. The day serves as a reminder that the fight against the epidemic requires continued efforts in prevention, education, and access to healthcare. It also emphasizes the importance of addressing social, economic, and cultural factors that contribute to the spread of the virus and hinder access to care.

The project was mainly targeted to donate dry rations bags for lower-income pregnant women in Kandy district. Along with this we conducted an awareness program for pregnant women on “How to have a healthy baby without being stress”, the program was conducted by Public health mid-wife in Thannekubura.

Lions Club of Kandy Penguin Excellence key club officers The President, Secretary and the Treasure participated in this program today, 12th November 2023.
Program was held at pilimathalawata devotional secretaries office.

Yesterday, Key Club officers, including President Lion Sahan Hansaka, Secretary Lion Prabath, and Membership Director Lion Harshini (in place of the absent Treasurer), actively engaged in the Region Action meeting. The distinguished presence of Governor Lion Panthaka Dabare, who served as the chief guest, added significance to the event.

Region Chairman Lion Ranjith Dayarathna was the main organizer in the meeting and generously contributed
100,000 rupees in sponsorship.

During the session, Governor Lion Panthaka Dabare inquired about the club's operational procedures, fostering a productive discussion. Overall, it was an exceptionally motivated and productive meeting.

First District Governor's Advisory Committee Meeting at the Devon Hotel. Lion Ranjith Dayarathna, our Region Chairman, graced us as the chief guest.
Club leaders, including Presidents, Secretaries, Treasurers, and Membership Directors region 6B, attended and actively participated. Together, we discussed initiatives to strengthen our community service efforts.

The 2nd Installation Ceremony of the Lions Club of Kandy Penguin Excellence 306 C1 was successfully conducted at the esteemed venue of the Kandy Garden Club. The event was graced by the presence of Past District Governor Lion Professor Luxhmen Wijeyweera, who served as the esteemed Chief Guest for the occasion.

During this noteworthy event, the members of the Lions Club of Kandy Penguin Excellence 306 C1, for the Lionistic year 2023-2024, elected their new executive body. The elected members who will be steering the club's initiatives and endeavors throughout the year are as follows:

- Secretary: Lion Ganga Indunil Ganga Gunawardhana
- Treasurer: Lion Thilina Ruberu

Lions Club of Kandy Penguin Excellence annual Trip to Mahiyangana

These bins are intended to support the university's waste management system, and promote the responsible disposal and recycling of waste materials.
