I applaud you Woman, for your power and strength. I applaud you Woman, for your will to continue even when the odds are against you.
You carry the weight of the world on your shoulder; you cater for those you love ; you are expected to crack but never break.
Whenever there's a mess- you are called to clean up, be it a family issue, an infant's poo, your partners shabby ways, or a political mess - YOU, need to hold the fort strong, defend your family and yourself.
Industrialisation has been harsh on you- you are not able to raise your kids, you are not able to look after yourself and your family as you want - but you make ends meet on a broken soul, bruised emotions, unmet expectations, insulting circumstances and bodies that ache from either physical abuse or not enough rest.
A toast you today as you take a deep look inside of you and fix what needs fixing. If you aren't right mentally you will continue to struggle and fail- and the world is watching- we are so burdened and hurt and dissapointed and dissatisfied that we have gone astray and fail at the very essence of who we are : A Lover; A Caregiver; A Nurse; A Naughty Girl; A Kind Hearted Warrior.
& wish you a happy and phenomenal .
For the longest time, i believed that misery and pain were part of my life. Id suffered so much anguish and didn't understand nor like myself. My mood and behaviour came mostly as a suprise to me- i could be hanging with friends, laughing and dancing, next thing I'm behind the house cutting my wrists. I could be crying alone in the house because of regrets and self hate, next thing I'm singing alone on a drive at midnight. I'd be doing really well and next thing im crippled by anxiety and the only sensible thing to do is to kill myself.
I thought that this was my personality. My character. I thought that i was born a mess or I'd just become a mess. I truly hated life. I tried so hard to be "normal" but instead i messed up hofeta! Alcohol became my best medication and best friend . It doesn't help that in the midst of all this i became a victim of GBV and repeated r**e. Now that messes you up for li final.
So, heeeee, my life was : sleep, have nightmares, wake up, cry, fantasize about dying, skip breakfast, force a smile, sometimes bath, step outside and fake happiness and get it right 100%, drink lot of alcohol, cringe at bad decisions made, pretend to not care, laugh, smoke a cigarette, dance, cry, drink, pick a fight, cut myself, feel embarrassed, drink somemore, fake 100% recovery, socialize hofeeeeta, laugh, go home, sink into a bad depressive hole, cry, hurt myself , sleep, ke tsosoe ke letsoalo, regret being me, sleep, wake up and repeat.
I did this consistently for over 10 years and i mastered it. Some days were better than others and i got the hang of it. Oh YES i did well still, did well at work, mothered a beautiful son, got cars, did so great at work that i got promoted every year- they even took me to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. I am smart so i had a lot of greatness. I've been "mad" 3 times and have toyed with su***de 5 times. Anxiety was now my daily bread.
Now? Now I am 100% FINE!!! I don't have anxiety, i have no real regrets, i drink when i want and i want to live longer. Challanges happen everyday but i am wiser, smarter, stronger and sane. I am more sane than "normal" people. Ke ntja ea game๐๐.
If i did it- YOU CAN!!! Use me๐.
