Fast fashion has changed how we buy clothes, but it's hurting our planet and people. Rapidly making and tossing out trendy, cheap outfits adds up to 12.8% of global greenhouse gases and leads to resource destruction, pollution, and unfair labor practices. We need to rethink our habits!

These insights came from our "Green Fashion" Erasmus+ Youth Exchange in Cyprus this March. Our students learned a lot and have been sharing this knowledge back home. They've hosted events and activities to discuss fast fashion, greenwashing, pollution, ethics, and workers' rights.

We wrapped it all up with a Creative Skills Workshop and Clothes Swap! 🎨👕 Students learned sewing, knitting, braiding, and more to revamp old clothes. They also brought in their gently used items to swap with friends, making it a fun and eco-friendly way to refresh their wardrobes. This initiative helps reduce waste and promotes a greener lifestyle. 🌍♻️

What an unforgettable day (& night) we had yesterday at our AHSS graduation! 🌟 Our amazing graduates truly showed us what it means to be a STAR! 🌟

Held at Hotel Aleksandar Palas, the atmosphere was filled with emotions from the moment everyone arrived. Our graduates were absolutely glowing, each one of them uniquely highlighting their amazing journeys over the past few years. They shared the stage one last time, united as the Class of 2024. 🎓

Our Principal and teachers stood alongside them, sharing heartfelt messages and sincere gratitude. Parents clapped with tears in their eyes, witnessing their little ones transformed into confident, inspiring young adults. 👏❤️

We are beyond grateful to have shared this journey with you. You've made these years truly magical for all of us. As you step into your bright futures, know that you will forever be our shining stars! ✨💫

She will tell you everything you need to know, and will introduce you to the fascinating world of astrology, the analyses of the movement of celestial bodies and their influence on Earth and human beings. 🌠

Zorica is an excellent student and has been one of the most hardworking and talented students at School. 📚But, what we all know and love most about her is her talent and skills for astrology. She is dedicated to creating astrological or natal charts, based on the date and time of birth, and it really defines the character of the person. Zorica thinks that this is accurate because the more you delve into and observe things from that perspective, the more it becomes evident that it is true. With her interest in astrology and her immersion in it, she has experienced situations such as randomly guessing a person’s sign in a cafe based solely on their external characteristics and movements. With more interest and observation, every sign can be uncovered, says Zorica. 🌞

We are so proud to have such bright young students at our School, who not only study and work hard, but also find time for their hobbies and are free to explore everything that fascinates them. We hope the stars have big plans for Zorica in the future, and we can’t wait to see how far she will come! 🚀

Buzzing with talent and excitement, this past weekend we hosted the electrifying National Spelling Bee Contest 🐝, organized by the American Corner! We were thrilled to welcome a group of outstanding elementary and high school students—excellent English speakers and eager competitors from around the region. They converged at UACS and AHSS to mingle, compete, and put their spelling prowess to the test.

The competition was fierce, but the real buzz is about our AHSS students who swept the top spots: Eva Naumovska, Argentina Bunteska, and Teo Jankulovski took home first place🥇, with several others securing second and third places🥈🥉.

To celebrate, UACS and AHSS awarded the winners vouchers for future enrollment discounts. We're excited about the prospect of these brilliant "bees" joining our student body.🎓

Congratulations to all the participants for their hard work and dedication, and a big cheer for the winners and their teachers! You’ve made us all proud. 🎉

We would like to present you this week’s student of the week – Daniil Novotarskiy! 🌟

Daniil is one of our most talented musicians in the School🎶, and we can trace that love of music all the way back to his earliest childhood, and it’s all because of his father, who taught him the value and importance of listening to good music. From Beethoven to American disco music, ever since Daniil was a little child, he was exposed to good sound.🕺

That is even more evident now, as we see Daniil walking around the School with headphones on all day long, all the time, immersing himself not only in the classics, but in modern music also. So, no wonder that Daniil’s love of music has evolved and he is now playing guitar🎸, making music on his own. And of course that he is a big part of the School band – The 3rd Brigade, contributing to their powerful sound with his cool and smooth bass guitar.

But, music is not the only thing that Daniil loves – he is also a passionate artist and is skilled at drawing🎨. What started as a hobby, mainly drawing and sketching movie characters and cartoon type animations, lately developed into really good and impressive painting, especially focusing on portraits, and he is remarkably good at all of it.

Daniil is also a fan of healthy lifestyle habits, so he also loves cycling🚴, enjoys time spent in nature and living a balanced, healthy life. He is an inspiration to other students and we really hope he continues growing in such a good direction.

🚀 An incredible talent with a true artistic nature, we hope that Daniil continues with his passion for creation and we can’t wait to see what he will take on next.

Today we present you this week’s student of the week – Maksim Gonev! 🌟

Maksim is one of the students who show a special interest in the technical sciences. His talent especially stands out in the field of mechanics, practical electronics, as well as activities in the area of Amateur Radio. One of the youngest Radio Amateur, who at the age of 12 successfully passed the state exam for Amateur Radio 📡 and obtained a ‘P’ license from the Agency for Electronic Communications - AEK for working with transceivers in the radio amateur range, and is the holder of the international call sign ‘Z32AMD’📻 The interest in practical electronics in symbiosis with the activities related to Amateur Radio contributed to the successful realization of several projects for the self-construction of components of antenna systems, and with the help of the self-built antennas, he has successfully participated in several international Radio-Amateur competitions, and is currently an active member of the Radio Amateur Union of North Macedonia - RASM.

He also uses his free time to program minicomputers and microcontrollers of the RaspberryPi 🖥️ type, for which he uses his Python knowledge.

🏆 A remarkable talent with an interest in the technical sciences from a young age, we hope that Maksim’s continues with his passion in the future and nurtures his talent for the extraordinary.

Today we present you the student of the week – Teodora Perusheska! 🌟

Teodora is a multifaceted individual with a deep passion for music 🎶. As a dedicated vocalist in the AHSS band club (Third Brigade) and a member of the school choir 🎤, she constantly immerses herself in the world of melodies and harmonies. In her free time, Teodora enjoys creating covers of her favorite songs and experimenting with music mixing programs like BandLab to craft unique harmony breakdowns🎧.

Beyond her musical pursuits, Teodora also shines in the school’s film making club 🎥, where her love for movies and TV shows blossoms. With a particular fondness for rom-coms, horror movies, and sitcoms, Teodora effortlessly navigates between genres to find inspiration for her creative endeavors. Her talent for envisioning new concepts for music videos highlights her creative flair, as she seamlessly merges her interests in music and film.🎬

And looking ahead, Teodora harbors ambitions of studying psychology📚, showcasing her ability to draw connections between seemingly unrelated interests. By analyzing song lyrics and characters, she adeptly intertwines her passion for music with her academic aspirations, demonstrating a holistic approach to her personal and professional growth🧠.

🌟 A remarkable student with a vibrant personality and boundless creativity, Teodora’s passion and dedication serve as an inspiration to her peers and a testament to her bright future ahead.

We are still amazed at our students’ creativity and sense of humor, and we are still talking about the Spirit Week we had! We started with April Fools’ Day, and just when we thought we had seen it all, with the best possible costumes and masks, we were surprised with the Dress as Your Favorite Teacher Day and the Crazy Hair Day, when our students outdid themselves and took the concept of “dressing up” into new dimensions!

Check out the boldest and bravest of them all, and start thinking about next year, as this idea is slowly becoming our tradition! We are in awe of your ideas and at the same time, so proud to have you as our students. We admire your bravery, creativity, and passion and we feel honored to be able to teach and guide you through high school.

Today, our Grade 12 students will surely come home with a big smile on their faces and plenty of stories to tell their families! The classes from the courses Management and Business and Entrepreneurship with Prof. Venera Krliu were a way to give a new shape to learning and acquiring new information, and a way to show the true nature of creativity.

The students had their classes in Skopje City Park, where they were invited to express their emotions through art and learn from personal experience how art can be a powerful and therapeutic thing. Today, they drew the rollercoaster of life and how it affects us in our everyday lives, learning how to manage our days, our work and our emotions.

Painting, drawing, sculpting, or any other form of creative expression – art can really help you explore and understand your feelings uniquely and help you see things from a new, fresh perspective.
