Myanmar Hope was founded in May of 2007 in order to bring help and hope to the poverty-stricken people of Myanmar though spiritual, physical, educational, and emotional assistance. Since that time, we have delivered hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of aid in the form of rice, agricultural equipment, clean water initiatives, housing and community development, and educational assistance. Thanks to you, our generous donors, we were able to purchase Burmese language Bibles for all of our HBS students!
They have been learning to read the scriptures using their Kuki language Bibles, and now they will learn to read the Burmese Bibles. This will really help them in their spiritual growth and in their futures.
Next week we will purchase Bibles for the new Christians at Wetinpauk Christian Church.
While the new Boys' Dorm is under construction, we've had to move the boys into a temporary dorm nearby. They are doing their best to make it livable! Here they are putting down some concrete so that they don't have to walk through mud to get in and out of the house.
Palal does a great job teaching the boys very practical and helpful skills, like how to mix and pour concrete.
Here are some images from our Hunger Relief Program in July. These are at the Wetinpauk IDP camp (village).
Happy birthday, Cherry Nem Nei Them!! We are so happy you were born!!
Thank you note from Cherry.
"Since I cannot reply to everyone’s messages, posts, or comments (I am very sorry for that), I would like to thank everyone who wished me a happy birthday for my 14th birthday from this text😄❤️. Thank you to those who gave me birthday gifts too✨. Most of all I would love to thank God for still keeping me all healthy and alive til this day💗. Love you all and God bless🙏💖."
Please welcome Mrs. Vei Lhing to the New Pathway Home!
She arrived today, July 25th, 2024. She is 70 years old and is from Teijang village. She is very happy to have a new, safe home where all of her needs will be lovingly cared for.
We now have sixteen widows living at the New Pathway Home, along with staff and several refugee families from the surrounding villages.
Thank you all for your continued support of the New Pathway Home!

More construction progress...
Soon after the dedication service for Homalin Christian Church's new building, on June 30, 2024, the heavy rains started and now Homalin has flooded.
If the rains had started earlier, as they usually do, we would not have been able to finish the construction.
But God's plan was not delayed! The new building was completed in perfect timing. It was like when Noah built the Ark! The rains did not start until Noah was finished building.
Praise God!
We finally finished the new building for Homalin Christian Church!
We held a dedication service for it on the morning of June 30, 2024.
This is the eighth building construction project from Woodlawn Christian Church's GlobalFest 2023 donation. (We have one more building project to complete with the GlobalFest funds, but we are waiting for the area to become safe to work.)
Pastor Joel Hawl (Ja Pao) and his wife Kimboi will be living in this building. It will also be used as a guest house for our congregations in the Homalin Area.
We give thanks to God for His many blessings for His children in every region!

Please welcome the newest member of the New Pathway Home family!
Ms. Mang Ja Neng, age 85, is a widow from Naungket Village. She just arrived at the New Pathway Home this afternoon.
Her husband died in 1975. They had two sons and two daughters, but all of their children died before they reached ten years of age. When her husband died she was left alone and felt so lonely!
As all villagers around fled the ongoing unrest, she could not find a safe place to live. She requested to live at the New Pathway Home and we gladly agreed. She finally arrived today and she is so happy. Now she feels very safe!
There are fifteen widows living at the New Pathway Home, along with seven persons from a remote village taking shelter with us.
Thank you very much for praying for and supporting the New Pathway Home, where widows can find a safe place to live and have all of their needs met.
God bless you,
Palal
Say hello to the Hope Boarding School class of 2024!
Palal admitted 45 students into school this week, the first week of classes.
The new 2024 school year begins at Hope Preschool in Tamu. We only have ten students because of the current situation. Please pray for the students and staff as they prepare for a new school year in the midst of the civil unrest.
Thank you everyone for praying for piling this week. Everything went very well and we are making great progress. We have installed 204 piles in six days, May 27-June 1st. Praise God.
We still have 162 piles to be installed next week. There will be 366 piles in total for 122 points. Each pile is 8 inches wide and 20 feet long. We installed three piles (60 ft) at each point.
We need additional space for our boys during the construction process, so we rented a small lot adjacent to our property for one year. We will build a temporary house for them and some temporary storage for furniture and equipment.
The lot was completely overgrown, so some of our older students pitched in and helped clear the brush and debris. We hauled off three truckloads of debris!
Edit: I've added photos of the new house construction.
Installing the foundation pilings - May 27th
Our Spring/Summer 2024 newsletter was sent out this morning. It includes a nice report by Palal of his visit to America, as well as a couple of other important updates.
If you are on our subscriber list, please check your inbox. If you don't see it there, please check your spam folder. We send the newsletter to 880 subscribers, but usually only about half actually open the email.
Thanks!
We have started the piling phase of the construction with a prayer service.
Please pray with us for the successful completion of the foundation piles, and that the heavy machinery and the installation of the piles will not cause any damage to any surrounding buildings.
Thank you!
Transporting the foundation piles to HBS. This is not all of them, more will be delivered later.
The heavy equipment has arrived!
Here are some hunger relief images from one of our villages. Please pray for these families to be able to return home soon.
Preparing to put in the foundation pillars. Palal said this is called "peg-out" work.
Some images from the new Boys' Dormitory building construction. The students are filling up sandbags and laying them out to provide a firm footing for the heavy equipment that will come in and install the fifty-foot deep pilings for the foundation.
Also some images of meeting with the construction company.
Here are a few more photos from a recent hunger relief distribution.
Because of your generosity, we now have fourteen permanent residents at the New Pathway Home, and seven temporary residents. Here is the latest photo of our widows:
The old building and foundation have now been removed, and we can begin laying in the foundation and pilings for the new building.
They have all been working furiously to get all of this done before the rainy season starts.
Please keep Palal & Kikim in your prayers. They have been extremely busy since Palal returned home!

Our Story
Myanmar Hope was founded in May of 2007 in order to bring help and hope to the poverty-stricken people of Myanmar though spiritual, physical, educational, and emotional assistance. Since that time, we have delivered hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of aid in the form of rice, agricultural equipment, clean water initiatives, housing and community development, and educational assistance.
We have helped thousands of families and individuals to survive and recover from cyclones, forest fires, a rat plague, government-forced relocation, and many other humanitarian and natural disasters.
Through our boarding school in Yangon we are providing dozens of children from poverty-stricken families in the tribal northwest with a high-quality, biblically-based education. In addition to the general educational subjects received at the government schools, we provide the children with training in Bible and Christianity, English, Life Skills, Health and Nutrition, and much more.
We don’t just focus on meeting physical and educational needs, however. Through our Christian Leadership Training seminars in the northwest, we are bringing solid Christian and family life training to hundreds of tribal pastors and elders, along with their wives, regardless of denominational background. We also provide poor tribal Christians with native-language Bibles, hymnals, songbooks, and other Christian literature.
We provide ongoing monthly assistance for many of the poorest of the poor—widows, orphans, and the handicapped.
As we move forward into the future, we plan on equipping the tribal Christians with even more ways to become self-sufficient, including sustainable agricultural and aqua-cultural projects, small business micro-finance loans, additional boarding schools, and much more.
We are extremely passionate about helping our brothers and sisters in Myanmar to escape from the devastating cycle of poverty and oppression, and to be able to live that abundant life promised by Jesus—a life that most of us in the West now take for granted, but which is still a dream for most people in Myanmar.
The only way we can accomplish this goal is by relying completely on God’s provision through the prayers and financial support of many generous individuals, churches, and other like-minded organizations. We hope and pray that you, too, will be moved by God to come alongside and partner with us in this truly magnificent, God-honoring, Kingdom-building effort. You will be blessed!
