Please read patiently, and pass to all Parents and Teachers.

The Teaching and Non-teaching Staff of Ever-Best Grammar School were summoned for an emergency meeting with the Principal during their lunch break. The members of staff sat in twos in the assembly hall, discussing in low tones, as they waited for the Principal to arrive for the meeting.

It was not long before the Principal, Mrs. Julian Yemisi Agbaje, joined the staff in the hall. “Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. I guess most of you know why I called for this meeting? But in case you do not know, I will tell you now. It is with heavy heart I want to confirm to you that the news that filtered in when we came to school this morning has been verified and found to be true.

There were rumours this morning that we lost one of our students yesterday evening. Well, I want to tell you that it is no longer rumour; it is now truth. It has been verified. I went to their house this morning and saw things for myself; and the truth is that Abiola, Our Assistant Head Girl, died yesterday at night. So, if you saw her yesterday evening, as I did, when we had a meeting with all the prefects, that was the last time you would see her alive”.

There were groaning, weeping, bitter cries, etc., among the staff. Both men and women broke down in tears. By the way, some were already crying even before the Principal made the announcement. Abiola was such a nice girl that all who knew her could not hold back their tears.

But what really happened to Abiola?

The Principal continued her story…

“From what I gathered when I went to their home this morning, Abiola committed su***de inside her room last night. The mum went to her room after their morning prayer to find out why she did not come out for the usual family prayers and found her stone dead!”

At this juncture the Principal could not hold it further and had to make use of the handkerchief in her hands as she buried her face on the table. More weeping, sighing, sobbing…
among the staff.

After what seemed like forever, the Principal continued her story…

“Abiola dropped a letter for her mum on the floor, or she was probably holding it in her hands when death overpowered her. In the letter she appreciated her mum for all she did to take care of her and her younger brother since their father died five years ago.

She acknowledged that her mum really worked hard to make sure that she and her brother were enrolled in the best school around, and that they lacked nothing, which could make them feel the absence of their dad”.

“Why then did she take her life?” Someone asked.

In answer to that question, the Principal said…

“That is why I called every one of you here. We all failed Abiola! (at this juncture she stood up). After appreciating her mum, Abiola went ahead to explain the reasons why she decided to end it all. I may not go into all the detail but the summary is that the girl has been battling with low self-esteem and prejudice since the day she was made a prefect till yesterday when she could not bear it any longer.

I learnt that one of you here told Abiola’s mum that she was supposed to be the Head Girl but Nifemi was chosen instead because, she (Nifemi) smiles a lot while Abiola has a stony face.

And the mother believed that devilish self-sent messenger. I am going to deploy everything available to me to make sure I fish him or her out. Abiola’s mum never allowed a day to pass without taunting the poor girl about her failure to become the Head Girl. So each time she came to school and saw Nifemi she was filled with resentment, then she would go home to meet her mum who would jeeringly ask her, ‘how is that cheerful girl, Nifemi? I love her jare! If you like keep tightening your face!’

According to the nanny who talked with me, when Abiola got home yesterday, her mum asked the usual question about Nifemi and she simply said, ‘mum why don’t you ever tell me that you love me? Am I not a human being?’

And instead of the woman to retrace her steps she started calling the poor girl unprintable names and reminding her how she has been working like a jackal to give her the best possible, yet all she could do was to play the second fiddle.

She went to bed without eating. And as fate would have it, the nanny bought a bottle of Sniper two days ago, which she kept very close to the washing machine. Nobody knew when Abiola got up in the night and took the bottle and emptied the content into her mouth.

She ended the note she dropped for her mum with, ‘mum I love you and I have always told you so, even though I can’t really say whether you love me or not. You can transfer all your love to your cheerful Nifemi, but please do not abandon my little brother the way you abandoned me.’

As at that morning when we were there, she kept shouting, ‘Abiola, I love you! Abiola, look at me now, I said I love you! I love you Abiola…’ I suppose that by now they might have taken her mother to a doctor because it seemed she had lost

A husband said to his wife: I miss my family, I hope you will prepare lunch tomorrow, so I can invite them, it's been a while.

The wife said with a sigh: God willing, it will be good.

The husband said: OK, I will invite them.

The next morning, the husband went to work and at one o'clock he came home, and said to his wife: Did you cook lunch? My family will come in an hour.

And the wife said: No, I did not cook, because your family are not strangers, they can eat what is in the house.

The husband said: God forgive you! Why didn't you tell me yesterday that you won't cook and they will soon be arriving, what will I do?😒

The wife said: Call them and apologize to them, after all, they are not strangers.

The husband left the house upset and after a few minutes, there was a knock on the door. The wife got up, opened the door and was surprised to see her family, brothers, sisters and children!

Her father asked her, "Where is your husband?"

She said to him: He left a while ago.

Her father said, "Yesterday, your husband invited us for lunch. Is it possible for him to invite us and leave the house?"

The wife was stunned by the news, and began rubbing her hands, puzzled that the food in the house was not befitting for her family. She called her husband and said to him: Why didn't you tell me that you intended to invite my family for lunch?

He said to her: My family is your family, and yours is mine. There's no difference.

She said to him: Please bring ready-made food with you when coming, there is no food at home.

The husband said: I am very far from home and your family are not strangers, feed them from the food in the house as you wanted to feed my family.

Moral Lessons

1. Support your partner's well-being and happiness it will definitely return back to you.

2. Don't treat your partner's family like they are nothing to you. You have exchanged families immediately you get married.

3. Do unto others what you want them to do to you.

👮 🚗
A police DPO car was stolen within the police station.
The car belongs to the DIVISIONAL POLICE OFFICER of GWAGWALADA police Headquarters.
The thief came with the general uniform for motor mechanics in Nigeria. He entered the police station confidently and pretended as if he was going to see the DPO after he introduced himself as the officer's mechanic and he had an appointment with him. He went inside but didn't enter the DPO's office and return back. Then, he went to the DPO"s car, used his master key, unlocked the car, and drove out. The police officers at the gate opened the police station gate for him. About an hour later, the DPO came out of his office, moved to his parking space, and saw it empty without his car. After he enquired, the officers o duty told him that his mechanic came in mechanic uniform and took his car after coming out of his office. It was a real and true attack on the police station and on the most senior officer within his duty post without any arm, ammunition, harassement, and intimidation. Period.

Can we discuss this for the benefit of those who engage in guard duties and all in general? Who's to blame?

Let's discuss

*FROM DPO TO GOVERNOR*:

The DPO smells the w**d and asked him; "Do you know who I am?".
The young man answered, "No, why?
The DPO said: "I am the Divisional Police Officer!".
The young man exclaimed; "Only smell you smell am, and you don become DPO, wetin go happen when you smoke am?, you go become the Governor na...!!!

Tip 13. When you give, give with modesty and privately, learn to say "I can't spare that amount now."

Tip 14. Don't stay late in your office long after closing hours. That deadline work can be done later or at home if you wish.

Tip 15. Make safety the number one factor in your decision always!

Tip 16. Mind what you post about yourself on social media.

Tip 17. Never make any attempt to open your gate/door to even your child, brother, or any relative in the night, particularly dead nights. They might be used to get you easily. NO MATTER WHAT JUST TELL THEM, TILL IN THE MORNING.

It is important that you share this now. Someone somewhere may need this today.

✨10 Dark Truths that will Make You Stronger.

1. Nobody cares about you, your plans, your goals, or your little dramas. So, stop pretending they do, or getting upset when they don't. Do the good things you have to do for your benefits.

2. When it comes to reaching your goals, discipline is more important than motivation. If you don't have discipline, you will never be committed to anything.

3. You are the only person capable of changing your life; no one can do that for you and no amount of excuses can do it for you. The easiest way to change yourself is to change the things you do each day.

4. The biggest threat to your progression in life isn't something or someone around you. It is you.

5. The key to a successful life lies not in what you know, but in what you do with what you know.

6. Failure is just a steppingstone on the road to success.

7. You can't change the past, but you can still d£stroy your future if you repeat the mistakes.

8. Success is not about what you accomplish, it's about who you become in the process.

9. Your comfort zone is a barren place. Nothing ever grows there.

10. Anything in life worth achieving will not be easy to get. Stop believing otherwise. If it was easy, everyone would get what they wanted. Most people give up on their goals when things become too difficult. Don’t be like them.
