Let's delve a little into the importance of vegetables:

🫒 Vegetables are a good source of dietary fiber, a type of carbohydrate that helps pass food through your digestive system. Studies show that fiber may also improve vitamin and mineral absorption in the body, which could potentially raise your daily energy levels.

🫒 Green leafy vegetables also contain vitamin K, which is believed to prevent calcium from building up in your arteries. This can lower your risk of arterial damage and help prevent many heart health complications in the future.

🫒 Vegetables are a rich source of folate, a B vitamin that helps your body make new red blood cells. Folate is especially important for children’s health and may also reduce the risk of cancer and depression.

You should always have vegetables in your meals at least in a meal per day and that of your kids😊

Are you looking forward to starting a gym routine but never stepped foot in one before? To achieve the best results in the Gym, it is important you have all the essentials you are going to need packed and ready to go.

Here are some of the workout essentials to pack in your gym bag for your first day to work, sweat and achieve:

1. Water bottle: Keeping your own reusable water bottle handy at the gym; it will help you stay hydrated.

2. Quick-Dry Hand Towel: Not always do you get a good quality hand towel at the gym and if you do, some places can charge a lot for them. So keeping a microfiber quick dry hand towel close is the perfect way to remain fresh and clean.

 3. Headphones: Good music is always motivating when you hit the machines so keeping your favourite headphones in your gym bag is always a good option.

 4. Snack: The best way to recover after your workout is to have a post workout snack, rich in protein. You can pack a protein bar or dry fruits in your bag to help speed the recovery of the body.

5. Workout clothes/Shower essential : It is very important to always have a fresh set of workout clothes in your bag and change your gear after the workout(optional);  Some of us will want to take a post-workout shower to stay clean and fresh. Keeping a small bag packed of all the shower essentials from shampoo to body wash is a good idea for a quick shower too (optional too)You could decide to get that done at home even though some gyms have shower room and the likes.

With these few tips, You should be good to hit the gym as a beginner 😊💪🏋️

You need to stop 🛑 trying to stick to a “perfect” diet!
👋🏼 Meet Mary: Who came to me hyper-focused on eating “clean”. 🥗 Avoiding most carbs, added sugar, processed foods, alcohol 🍷, all the “bad” stuff.

It was stressful and made meal planning and prep super overwhelming. 😓 But she stuck to it because she felt like it worked. That is… Until it didn’t.

Until she went out to eat or her family brought home some sweets. 🍫 Then the wheels fell off and she was sent spiraling, eating ALL the food. It left her feeling shameful, frustrated, and stuck with her weight loss goals. 💔

Grab a seat, let’s discuss your falling off on your wellness journey and giving up.

Eating cake and ice cream while on a diet is fine.

Eating Pizza and coke on a diet is fine.

Eating Amala and Goat meat is fine.

What is not fine is when you give up on your journey just because of one bad meal.

What really matters is to get back on track and be on point 80% of the time.

So when next you want to give up. Remember consistency means NEVER GIVING UP!
