On September 4th, Chile celebrates Chilean Wine Day, recognizing its world-class wine industry. Renowned for premium red varieties like Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Carmenere, Chile has earned a distinguished place in the global wine market.

♻️ The industry is deeply committed to sustainability, with many wineries holding eco-friendly certifications.

🏆 Chilean wines consistently receive top international awards, further solidifying their global reputation.

🚢🌎 As a leading exporter, Chile proudly shares its exceptional wines with the world.

As a Commercial Office we had the opportunity to participate in working groups with universities from Spain, Colombia, Chile, and the Netherlands, sharing experiences and work perspectives. These enriching exchanges were part of the project, which will take place in 2024 and 2025, bringing together six universities from these countries with local industries in their regions. The main goal of the project is to equip students, academics, and professionals with the skills and mindsets needed to thrive in both local and global work environments through the development of joint employability courses. We are proud to support the Chilean delegation participating in the project: Católica del Maule Burgos and CATÓLICA DE LA SANTÍSIMA CONCEPCIÓN Baeza.

✨Yesterday, Embassy of Chile in the Netherlands and ProChile Netherlands participated in a wine and spirits promotion event organized by Diplomat Magazine. The event took place at the Leonardo Promenade Hotel in The Hague. Distinguished guests also participated, including wine importers, sommeliers, chefs, restaurant and supermarket buyers, and members of various diplomatic corps.

✨We are proud to share with you that the largest Chilean delegation in recent years is at the 33rd Annual Conference and Exhibition of the EAIE: European Association for International Education 2023 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. A total of 19 Chilean higher education institutions (IEI) attend, interested in connecting with study houses from around the world, especially from Europe. With more than 6,000 participants from 99 countries and 239 stands, this event presents a valuable opportunity for these institutions.

🌎 Green hydrogen trade mission to
Are you active in green hydrogen? And curious about opportunities in Chile? Then take part in the green hydrogen trade mission to Chile from 22 to 26 October 2023. Chile offers so many market opportunities for renewable energy from solar and wind.

With lot of sun in the north and lots of wind in the south, Chile has a huge supply of renewable energy. The country wants to become important as a producer of green hydrogen to ensure its own energy transition and to enter a (new) export market.
Due to such a large supply of renewable energy, Chile will probably become one of the cheaper suppliers of hydrogen. This offers opportunities for Dutch companies in green hydrogen.
Chile has several pilot projects for renewable energy, such as one for wind energy generation and one for solar energy generation.🔋

Organization by Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Santiago de Chile are organizing this mission, together with and InvestChile

The Chilean government has announced a strategic committee for the Green Hydrogen Action Plan and various measures to support the development of this industry. Diego Pardow, Minister of Energy, and Mario Marcel, Minister of Finance, introduced the members of the committee who will be responsible for creating a roadmap for the growth of this energy sector. Additionally, several initiatives were revealed to encourage the advancement of this industry in Chile.
