Pianist friends! Just over a week ago we released a piano version of Amelie’s Beautiful Colours on Bandcamp to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of our debut. Today we are happy to announce that we have also released the full score for the piano version! As with all versions of Amelie’s Beautiful Colours on Bandcamp, all proceeds from the sale of the sheet music for the next 2 months will be donated to Save The Children.

Today marks the 2nd anniversary of our first single, Amelie’s Beautiful Colours! To celebrate, our keyboardist Kasia skillfully arranged and recorded a piano version of the song, which is available now on Bandcamp. Find the link below! But that is not all…

For two months from today, all proceeds from the sale of all versions of Amelie’s Beautiful Colours on Bandcamp will be donated to the charity Save The Children.

GLASS DOLL UPDATE: Due to some unfortunate but unavoidable delays, our new track is set for release on all streaming services in February, rather than January as previously advertised. A new single is just around the corner!

Kristin and Morgaine have been in the studio today to record lead and backing vocals with the awesome Filip Engedahl, who helped us get the perfect takes. Markus couldn’t join in person, but was fortunately able to tune in remotely to monitor the session and direct the performances. After some additional vocal recordings tomorrow to finish up the backing and stacking, and then a live orchestral recording over the weekend, we’ll have a track that’s just about ready to move onwards to the mixing and mastering stage!

''When I heard the draft of the song for the first time I already felt chills. This song is the first one I worked on since joining Soulcrux and I worked with different melodies and background sound-effects which have been added throughout different instrumental lines. It’s a very ambitious project, but at the same time it expresses lots of different emotions and I think that is what makes it interesting.

After working on this song and composing music together, I really feel that I’ve integrated well with the band and we are looking forward to performing this song on the stage! ''

A World Without Direction is a very powerful and complex song, but catchy and groovey enough to get into the ear of an individual very quickly and leave a unique mark.

I'm really looking forward to practicing it at our weekly rehearsals and ultimately performing it live. 🔥

“I had a lot of fun with the backing vocals on this song in particular. On top of recording the more traditional backing vocals, Markus and I experimented quite a bit with vocal effects. For example, we layered my voice into the choir in some places, played around with recording breaths and whispers for additional background texture, and we also did some cool things with a few whistle register notes. See if you can pick them out once A World Without Direction is released!“

The origins of A World Without Direction go back couple of years to ideas and drafts when I didn’t know Morgaine, Toni and Kasia even existed, but here we are – finally! Another song finished and ready to blow up your minds – I hope.

Now that we have a release date for “A World Without Direction” (20-05-23), we wanted to share some new portrait shots of the band members. First up is Kristin Frivold Davidson, our charismatic and energetic lead singer!

Kristin was actually very pregnant during this shoot, but still enthusiastically trekked through the knee-deep snow to take some great photos. She is taking a step back from the promotional side of A World Without Direction for now because she just recently had her baby. But she wants you all to know that she and the baby are doing great and that she can’t wait for you to hear the song when it’s released later this month!

Not only do we have a brand new single right around the corner - check back here at lunchtime later today (May 2nd) for more information!! - but our talented keyboardist Kasia has written and recorded a beautiful piano cover of our first single, Amelie’s Beautiful Colours.

Due to our new single being released VERY soon (did we mention that you should check back in with us around lunchtime??), we decided to postpone the release of the Amelie piano cover for a little while. This piano version was originally intended as a 1 year anniversary Easter Egg but, while Easter may have come and gone, we hope you’ll still look forward to hearing it in a few weeks’ time. And don’t just look forward to hearing it, because we will also be making the sheet music available for a nominal fee. We guarantee that the piano players among you will have a lot of fun!

And about that new single lurking just around the corner… we’ll have a spooky little teaser containing the title and release date waiting for you in a few hours. So see you all at lunch! (Norwegian lunch) 🥪

Today is a special anniversary for Soulcrux! On this day, one year ago, we released our first single - Amelie’s Beautiful Colours.

To commemorate the occasion, we are thrilled to announce that we will be releasing a solo piano version of Amelie, arranged and performed by our talented keyboardist, Kasia. We expect it to be released within the next month!

In even bigger news, we will *also* be releasing our third single (name yet to be revealed) towards the end of April! It’s been a long time coming, but we are excited to share this newest track with you - it’s our heaviest and most epic one yet!

Last night we had a ton of fun! Our first rehearsal with our keyboardist Kasia, and it went very well indeed! Soon we’ll be bringing in our lead singer, Kristin ✨

Once the next couple of singles and the EP are out of the way, we should be ready to bring our music to the stage. It’s a little while away yet, but we’ll definitely be prepared! 🤘

Yesterday we moved into our shiny new rehearsal space! Not so new for our bass player, who has rehearsed here before, but for the rest of us it was move-in day!

Markus, Toni, and Morgaine spent the evening playing through our song “Dust” and tone testing the live sounds for the guitars and bass. Next we bring in our keyboardist Kasia. Once the band is in order, our lead singer Kristin will join us to tie it all together!

With two tracks out, two more coming soon, and an EP planned for later in the year, we hope to bring Soulcrux’s music to the stage by the end of 2023!

Wishing a great weekend to you all! Here at Soulcrux camp we had a vocal review today. Went through the text and melodies for a new awesome track that you guys get to hear later. There is material coming out before this one though! We’ll make sure you all are entertained this year 😉

Today we recorded the bass track for our next single! And Markus even managed to get a picture of a pretty decent Bass Face, despite Morgaine’s best efforts to avoid the camera 😆🤘

Only one small guitar piece left to record before the track is ready for the mixing stage. We’re all very excited to share it with you once it’s ready. It’s a pretty fast and heavy tune!

Hello everyone and a Happy New Year! To kick off 2023 we would like to introduce you all to the lovely Kasia, who is the latest addition to the Soulcrux lineup!

Kasia is a classically trained pianist from Poland who also enjoys playing the drums. After completing her piano training at W. Lutosławski Comprehensive High School of Music in Białystok, she went on to play in many rock bands primarily as a drummer. However, since her interest in music production began to develop, she decided to strengthen her piano skills once again by focusing on keyboards and songwriting.

‘’I do have two musical faces - like when I play Rachmaninov on piano and then follow along to Metallica songs on drums. That’s how I can express myself in Soulcrux by combining these two sides of my musical tastes. It is good to be part of this beautiful creative team and I am looking forward to the symphonic metal future we will share!’’
