SCHOOL DENTAL BUS
Dental treatment for 13-18 years old.
While the Dental Bus provides a valuable service, it's important to know that it isn't the only option available for your child's free dental care.
Sometimes, the Dental Bus is staffed by Oral Health Therapists rather than dentists. You have the right to inquire about who will be providing the treatment , their qualifications and how experienced they are.
Many private dental clinics are registered with the Ministry of Health to offer free dental care for children. You can check with your local dentist to see if they are registered with the MOH and can provide this service. The schools can also provide a list of all the private dental clinics in your area that are registered with the MOH. You can enroll your child at any one of those clinics .
I hope this information helps you make the best decision for your child’s dental care.

We don’t mind fixing botch-ups; but it is time to point out the obvious. Most of these botch-ups can not be fixed.
The Cosmetic Dentistry world is saturated with providers who over-promise and under-deliver.
It is very easy to become a victim of false advertising.
Here are some tips to help avoid these mistakes and help you choose the right cosmetic dentist for yourself.
1) Look at the dentist’s OWN collection of Before and After Smile Makeover photos
This is the first step to choosing the right Cosmetic Dentist for yourself. Ask to see THEIR OWN Before and After portfolio. Steer clear if they can not provide photos of their own work. Some providers use stock photos and photos of treatment provided by other dentists. Always ask if the photos you are looking at belong to the dentist who will be doing your work.
2) Consider the dentist’s experience
Experience is an important factor to consider when choosing a cosmetic dentist. Look for a dentist who has been practicing cosmetic dentistry for several years and who has completed a significant number of procedures. This will give you confidence in their ability to handle your case and achieve the desired results.
3) Read the Reviews
Look out for reviews that specifically talk about Smile Makeovers and Cosmetic Dentistry. Reviews on general dental treatment are not relevant to a dentist’s ability to carry out complex Smile Designs and Smile Makeovers.
4) Check the credentials
Very few dental schools provide general education in cosmetic dentistry. Therefore, it is essential that a dentist pursue post-graduate training in cosmetic dentistry to master the art and the principles. There are numerous, well-respected cosmetic dentistry education programs. It’s also beneficial to look for a dentist who is a member of a recognized professional body.
5) Trust your instincts
You have to feel comfortable with the dentist and the staff. Trust is a huge factor when it comes to Cosmetic Dentistry. Most patients know if they can trust the dentist after the first consultation. A face to face consultation is highly recommended.
Patient got a Smile Makeover done while she was travelling overseas. She wasn’t very happy with it. It’s nice to see her smiling with so much confidence now ❤️
Smiles are always in style 💖
This wonderful guy is doing some great things in New Zealand and we are very lucky to have him and his team here.

Slow and steady… 😍
They say “You can’t pour from an empty cup” …. I like to think that we should be grateful we even have a cup. We can only hope and do our best to fill the cup back up again.
Sarah came to see us a couple of days ago and she gave me some priceless gifts for my daughter. That beautiful gesture confirmed that she is genuine human and a wonderful role model for girls all over the world. She is mentally strong. She is doing her best to get back on the field to do what she loves. She keeps pouring from her cup to make others feel special ; while she is not feeling a hundred percent herself.
We are very lucky to be part of her corner 🫶🏼
Love you .hirini 🥰

Story Time…as I reflect on another year around the sun .
My first job as a first year Dental Student at University of Otago was a kitchen hand and a dish washer at an Events Centre. I got paid $8 an hour . I worked from 6pm- midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
On one particular Saturday, my manager told me that the All Blacks had hired the venue . I was so excited. I tried to get a glimpse of my favourite players through the small opening of the door. I was sad I couldn’t see them clearly. My manager said “oh well, at least you can say you got to clean their spit off the dishes”.
Life has worked in miraculous ways and my career has advanced . Everytime I ask my assistant to use the Saliva Ejector while I treat these guys I think “yep still cleaning their spit” 😅
came in to see us and he surprised me with his jersey he wore during the RWC in France last year. It has autographs of the whole team. It took me a while to compose myself. The memories of me cleaning the dishes till late night to pay for my bills as a student popped back in my head. I feel so blessed and grateful for having the love and respect of these boys. They mean a lot to me.
All the glamour aside, these guys are just wonderful humans who just want our love and support. Their struggles and challenges are real .
I will always cherish these priceless moments from the and all the other athletes who have become more than clients. The special bond means heaps to me and my children. The heart and the cup is full .
Here’s to many more years of cleaning the spit until I hang up the Saliva Ejector for good xx 😅🙏🏼❤️
Gave them a few pointers on how to win again this year
