📣 ENTRIES ARE NOW OPEN FOR THE 2024 APRA BEST JAZZ COMPOSITION AWARD 📣

Composed a piece of music that was released or broadcast to public for the first time between 1 June 2023 and 31 May 2024? You could be eligible for the 2024 APRA Best Jazz Composition Award.

Entries have now opened for the award that celebrates the incredible, diverse works of Aotearoa jazz creators. Previous winners include Lauren Ellis, Lucien Johnson, Jake Baxendale Music and Louisa Williamson Music.

The award will be presented at a private in-person event in Te Whanganui-a-Tara this October. As well as the year's title, the winner will also receive a $1000 cash prize. For full terms and conditions, head to the link in the comments before Friday 26 July, 5pm.

Our pals at MusicHelps are stoked to announce applications for the 2025 MusicHelps Master of Music Therapy Award are now open.

The award exists to support the growth of music therapy practitioners in Aotearoa and is open to all wāhine-identifying students accepted into the Master of Music Therapy programme at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.

The recipient will receive an $8,000 scholarship and, if they are in their second year of study, will include a pathway to a supported student placement with a Raukatauri Music Therapy Centre.

Thanks to the generous support of Kate Edger Educational Charitable Trust and Raukatauri Music Therapy Trust, MusicHelps is proud to present this award which not only recognizes a future music therapy practitioner but also reconfirms the power music has to help and heal. 🎵🖤
