And that’s a wrap on 2020!
A big thank you to Whāngarei for welcoming Pūhā & Pākehā with open arms!! We had no idea how the concept of Māori fusion kai would fare in the North nor the reception. However in just two months we gained a loyal Northern following, made mates with some awesome local businesses and best of all fed a whole lot of people! So we are indeed grateful, thankful and blessed.
However we’re packing up our hāngi cooker & turning our gas off for a few weeks to spend some time with our whānau and will see you all in the New Year!
Travel safe, be kind one another and, of course, Merry Christmas 🎄✨

Good news whānau! The Winterless North held true to its name on Wednesday night when Pūhā & Pākehā made its northern debut at the relaunch of the InnoNative Economy Store!
Two days prior we were busy in the kitchen trying to nail recipe after recipe and sauce after sauce. Subjecting family, colleagues and anyone else who happened to walk past the kitchen door to taste tests! We soon learnt who had the best tastebuds in the building and, by no choice of their own, became our designated taste testers! Which was great for them until the afternoon of day 2 where I think they became all pork & horopito sauced out lol! Sorry lads!!
Eventually the 28th October arrived and Pūhā & Pākehā was officially open!
We did have to work through a couple hiccups in the beginning of service but once we established a steady rhythm, we were away!
So, to everyone who came to support Pūhā & Pākehā’s first little outing in Whangārei we hope you liked our funky caravan and we hope you enjoyed our Māori fusion kai! We hope to see you all again soon but more importantly... ngā mihi nui ki a koutou katoa!

Kia Ora loyal Pūhā and Pākehā followers:
As some of you may have seen earlier this week Pūhā and Pākehā was acquired by InnoNative Economy in Whangārei.
This morning Belinda and Jarrad arrived in the North to deliver the Pūhā and Pākehā caravan to her new home. The transition and handover was quite emotional but just know that the story, legacy and kaupapa are safe with us.
So, Belinda and Jarrad, thank you.
To everyone in the North, we cant wait to bring the taste of Pūhā and Pākehā to the Tai Tokerau! Our first hit out will be next week! Wednesday 28th October at the much anticipated re-launch of our InnoNative Store! Check it out: https://fb.me/e/3VS20WF3u

Kia ora whānau,
We are excited to announce that the kaupapa will continue! Pūhā & Pākehā has been acquired by an awesome Māori organisation called InnoNative Economy in Whangārei. The caravan will be parked up there selling your favourite dishes. Make sure you check out the launch event https://fb.me/e/3PB6yJpP3
Kia ora whānau,
We would like to update you on some recent changes to our business. Due to the nature of the current environment with Covid-19 we have had to review the future of Pūhā and Pākehā and unfortunately we have made the decision to close the business down.
Our kaupapa was to take the kai of Aotearoa to the people of Aotearoa and bring Māori kai to the forefront of the food scene. We feel that we have achieved this and hope that others will continue this kaupapa.
It has been an amazing few years with many highs, some lows and massive amounts of hard work, dedication and passion. We are proud of what we have achieved and forever grateful that you came on this journey and supported us.
The future still has Māori business at the forefront of our mind as Jarrad has accepted a role with ATEED to support and develop Māori businesses in Auckland. And I have reverted back to my marketing career with a focus on supporting small business owners with marketing and promotion.
Nga mihi nui
Belinda & Jarrad
