Research project exploring self-administered psychedelic use for health and wellbeing in Aotearoa
Recruitment for the first stage of this project has now closed. Thank you to everyone who offered to help out. Still interested in being a part of the project? Keep an eye on this page for another opportunity to participate in the research early next year.
WHAT ARE WE STUDYING?
We're conducting research to learn more about how psychedelics are being used therapeutically by New Zealanders. We're hoping to learn more about the different ways New Zealanders are using psychedelics for health or wellbeing purposes (including spiritual purposes, if you consider this contributes to your health or wellbeing). We're particularly interested in how the different ways that people use psychedelics affect both their experiences of this practice, and the outcomes they achieve.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
We're looking to interview people who are over eighteen, currently living in New Zealand, and have used or are using at least one of the so-called "classic" psychedelics (Psilocybin, L*D, mescaline, DMT/ayahuasca) with the aim of improving their health or wellbeing. We're interested in hearing about macro-dosing and/or micro-dosing experiences.
WHAT WILL PARTICIPATION INVOLVE?
Participation will involve an interview about your experiences (which will take roughly 60 minutes). This can be done in person if you're living in or near Dunedin, or via Zoom video-conferencing if you're in another part of the country. If you're in Dunedin but would prefer a Zoom interview, that's fine too. With the permission of participants, we'll audio-record each interview so we can type up a transcript of the conversation. All information we collect will be securely stored and we'll make every effort to ensure confidentiality.
A $25 supermarket voucher will be offered as a koha for participation.
