Frank Gordon’s ‘Lament for the death of the Huia’ is a fantastical work inspired by Pre-Raphaelite paintings, Classical myths and stories. In this scene the birds have heard the strings and are compelled to join in the concert. It is also a sad tale of the demise of the Huia 💔
