Today was our annual RSA Blue v Gold game, which was won by the Gold team 13-10.
But the more important feature of the day was that long time and deserving member Barry Harvey was presented with a Life Membership. His contributions to the club for 20+ years has been incredible, and it was great to have his family here as he was presented the Life Membership. Congratulations Barry ππ» oh and he was on the winning team ππ

Sunday we held our annual Silver Fern Farms Christmas tournament, a great day had by all, the weather a bit iffy but we managed to get through the day. A massive thank you to them for their fantastic sponsorship each year π π¦π

Hi team, here is the lists of teams playing at either Gore RSA Bowling Club or Gore Bowling Club on Sunday for the Eastern Mixed Pairs. On Sunday we held our annual Gore & Districts Memorial RSA sponsored Elimination tournament. After the torrential rain on Saturday, our greenkeeper did a fantastic job getting the green ready, where we had a full turnout. A huge thank you to Gore & Districts Memorial RSA for their incredible generosity towards this, the sponsorship contributing towards travel for the team to play in the RNZRSA National Outdoor Bowls Tournament wherever it is held around NZ. We are now approaching that time of year again! How fast has this season flown by? This season has seen some fantastic bowls in our local Southland Competitions and thanks to the effort and dedication of some of our bowlers we are now starting to be recognized throughout NZ as a Centre with strong competitors who are going to be representing Southland on the International stage!
The efforts and accomplishments of this season deserve to be celebrated so start getting your numbers and save the night to come along and celebrate with everybody at our Annual Awards Night! Always such a great night to come together and celebrate the game we all love. Tickets are now on Sale, contact Sharon at the office to book your table!

We finally got to hold our annual Fives tournament a couple of weeks ago, after COVID played havoc the last two years. It was a great weekend, the weather was brilliant and some fantastic bowls played. A huge thank you to all of our sponsors, especially our major sponsor Gore and Districts Memorial RSA, your support year on year for this is amazing and we really appreciate it. Also thank you to MLT for your support of the club.
Terry Lynch was pipped at the post this year, Steve Sanders and team taking out top honor, with Terry and team coming in second. Third was Lindsay Halls Riversdale combination. Congratulations to all who placed and thank you all for your support by entering.
Waitangi Day saw us hold our annual tournament in honour of the late Gloria Fisken, thank you to the Fisken Family for their generous sponsorship of this tournament each year. Results as shown on the photos. A great day had by all who played.
