Coming up at Mesoverse this Friday!

LAST CHANCE TO SEE THE PHOTOS.

These photos have been up and down the north island at this point, but they'll be in Kirikiriroa for a couple of weeks (if they survive the show).

Have also managed to trick a few people into giving a quick talk about organising Smakdown and the wider community in the 2000s, as well as the perspectives of youth who joined our community for first time at the 20th.

All are welcome and no need to RSVP but it is helpful.

How is everyone's day one going thus far? Hope you are all doing o.k! How about we bring some lovely light in with some gorgeous artworks from Pauly B Artist.

Photo number one is Paul's projected works at the Surrealist Garden, at Hamilton Gardens for Hamilton Gardens Arts Festival. Paul is the projectionist for band Dr. Mesmer's Private Army! Photo number two, is Paul's work at Te Ruru Light Festival.

He is also a talent street/mural artist whose work can be seen on the walls of Hamilton (Victoria St - Static building, Barton St - opposite Cash Converters, Embassy Park, PAUA and Mesoverse!).

Paul has created the mural and visual projection for Mesoverse room number two (photo 3). He also created and painted the artwork on the outside space.

Our next artist showcase while Mesoverse is interim closed....is Tyla Jane Art!

Tyla creates beautiful magical worlds with little creatures. She is incredibly talented painter as well who has had exhibitions at the amazing local art gallery Skinroom in Frankton and also in Wellington.

This is just one of Tyla's creations for Mesoverse! She has a whole wall of them. We encourage you to check out and follow her on Instagram or Facebook (link above). Share an artist!

21/03/2020

So while Mesoverse is closed in the interim....thought we would share work of some the artists involved and also some of our favourite local ones too! You can support our local artists by sharing these posts or creating your own, spread the word, the art and the love!

Lets start a "share a local artist" challenge!

This beautiful tree creation was by Luke McConnell, Jeremy Mayall - Composer and brilliant lighting design creators ACLX for Te Ruru Light Festival for Matariki ki Waikato.

For Mesoverse Jeremy wrote the soundscape for every room and artwork and also created the entry piece. ACLX sponsored and created the lighting design!

This photo was also taken by another talented local, Middleton Joshua, who photographs many Hamilton places and faces! You can follow him on Instagram

The start of building the Mesoverse installation

15/03/2020

Hi everyone, Mesoverse will be staying open currently, unless Covid-19
community outbreak restrictions are implemented.

Mesoverse art installation limits to a small number of people entering at one given time, often friends or family choose to go in together, we do this regardless to help you get the full experience of the artworks, soundscapes and installation. We will ask people to wait their turn.

We also ask that people do not touch the artwork, some of it is delicate, so it is best not to!

If you have recently been overseas or are feeling sick or unwell please be responsible and refrain from coming in. We will be open for a while yet, you have time to enjoy!

We will be open from Weds to Friday 5pm - 9pm, Saturday 3pm until 9pm.

What is the Mesoverse?

Mesoverse is an exciting, innovative project with established local artists collaborating with lighting and multimedia specialists to create a public art space like no other! This will be the first of its kind in New Zealand. A large scale temporary immersive artwork and a mixed media playground. In mid 2019, the Immersive Experiences group was gifted a temporary building lease by Hamilton City Council to create the Mesoverse immersive art installation space in the central city. Mesoverse will be open to the public during March 2020!

What is immersive art you might ask?
The best way to describe it is a interactive sensory experience for the young and the young at heart!

Imagine walking through a secret door, a journey through a maze like tunnel bursting with creativity and multimedia installations, where physical and digital arts blend together as one and you arrive into an interglatic universe, MESOVERSE!
