Our Te Kōhao Health Wellness & Diagnostic Centre journey!
“We need to be proactive in prevention, and move away from constantly being in crisis mode, which has been the habitual pattern concerning our people for decades,” Lady Tureiti said.
Te Kōhao Health is hoping to change these outcomes by disrupting the historic continuum with our new kaupapa.

Happy 2024 whaanau! It's going to be a huge year for Te Kōhao Health.
Here are some of the latest photos of the Te Kōhao Health Wellness & Diagnostic Centre and a quick update on progress.
- The Main Carpark asphalt is complete with the line marking & wheel stop to commence.
- Civil Landscaping ongoing outside in conjunction with the removal of the temporary fence
- Exterior 95% Complete
- Services & Structure Complete & Live
- Landscaping to commence
- Whakairo Team carving some special taonga to be unveiled at the opening.
Our Wellness Centre is on track to be completed and handed over in March 2024.

When you assemble the right team great things happen! Just a quick update to show you how far the dream has come.
Remember we plan on shifting the needle! The whole purpose of this build is to prevent serious complications occurring for our Māori and Pacific whānau.
Putting our whānau at the front of the queue not the current status quo of ‘here’s your number go wait at home until we call you.’
Our Wellness and Diagnostic Centre will help detect problems early and enable us to prescribe treatment earlier than what is currently available.
The dream will become a reality soon. Watch this space!
