On Saturday we had a number of competitors representing the Dojo enter the Waikato Tournament - Matt, Sabriye (hope I spelt that right), Janine, Joe, Anton, Luca, and Win. Matt and Sabriye put in another solid kata performance and did well. Also want to acknowledge our first timers - Janine in Kata and Joe in Kumite I think both of you have 'leveled up' and grew a lot from that. Win had some solid hard working fights and did well, making it an all WCK final between him and Anton who is a seasoned campaigner. Lastly Luca stepped up and just blew my mind with his fights against some tall timber opponents!
A big thanks to all our supporters who were able to make it, and also to Shihan Tahi, Sempai Maia, and Sensei Marion for your instruction and Sensei Kevin Maber for hosting the tournament
To everyone else in the club keep training and enjoying your karate and setting your goals accordingly
Apologies Sabriye and Janine, I tried to get a photo at the end of tournament but could not locate you

Osu WCK whanau and friends. Apologies for the late notice but it is with sadness that I have to advise you of the passing of Eddie Krystman, last week.
Eddie and his family have been long standing members and supporters of WCK. Eddie was a member of the committee and contributed to our club for many years. His 2 children, were outstanding karateka representing NZ on many occasions, and his wife’s support was second to none.
The service for Eddie wil be this Monday, 8th April, 1:30pm at the Cathedral of Blessed Virgin Mary, on the corner of Anzac Parade and Grey street. Ample parking is available in the church car park of Beale St.
Our thoughts go out to family during this time.

If you can, get on down to support our team and all the other competitors this weekend.
Apologies I can’t make it but I want to congratulate all those who have put themselves forward to accept this challenge. Competition is a great way to test what you have learnt and how affective your technique is. I wish you all the best and can’t wait to celebrate your achievement.

If your keen to support our fighters come along.
Just another reminder about the tournament this weekend. Those competing from our dojo are all looking good and ready. For everyone else if you are able to make it out and support that would be great as well. Those who aren't competing don't forget that there are other goals you can aim for and we are always happy to help

We had a great little session down by the river last night. The weather was hot and the river really warm. Thanks for coming down and giving it a go.
For those who didn't make it. We all went for a run, and a few hill sprints. Then we jogged back to our grassy little patch for some kihon and kata. We also did a little bit of "dry land" walk through for some throws then jumped into the awa to practice them with a little more intent. lol.
Well done team. I think we need to get out in the sunshine more often.
See you all at the dojo on Thursday.
Here's a couple of photos of our training. Thanks Eden.

Looks like the weather is going to be awesome again tomorrow team, so we will be having an out door training as discussed last week.
We will be training at Hammond Park - 51/59 Malcolm Street. 6:00pm - 7:30pm. This is just up the road from the dojo.
Bring your running shoes, towel and change of clothes, we might get a little wet lol. Still train in your Gi. You can park along Malcolm st and we will meet at the bottom of the hill.
Spread the word, and see you all tomorrow.
