I'm working on something new...

I am trialling out a new herbal Magnesium Cream on my massage clients this week. It's important to me to use beautiful products in my massages. Feedback has been good and I think I'm onto a winning formulation with this one...

How good is a rare Sunday lie in?!

Just like in skincare, where greenwashing can deceive us into thinking we're using something pure and natural - it's crucial to dig deeper.

Did you know your skincare ingredients can potentially disrupt your hormones? Knowledge is power right. Here are some common hormone-disrupting chemicals found in skincare products but not in ours.

PARABENS. Used as preservatives, such as methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben, and butylparaben. They can mimic estrogen in the body.

PHTHALATES: Often used in fragrances and as plasticisers. Examples include diethyl phthalate (DEP), dimethyl phthalate (DMP), and dibutyl phthalate (DBP). They can interfere with hormone function.

TRICLOSAN: An antimicrobial agent used in antibacterial soaps, toothpaste, and skincare products. It may disrupt thyroid function and hormone levels.

BISPHENOL A (BPA): Found in some plastics and epoxy resins used in packaging, which can leach into skincare products. It can act like estrogen in the body. Choose glass packaging!

OCTINOXATE: A common sunscreen ingredient that can disrupt hormone function, particularly thyroid hormones.

RETINYL PALMITATE: A form of vitamin A used in skincare products, which can potentially disrupt the endocrine system.

These chemicals have been linked to various health concerns related to hormone disruption and should be considered when choosing skincare products. Opting for products labeled as "paraben-free," "phthalate-free," and "fragrance-free" can help reduce exposure to these substances.
