Last Friday our students took part in a Volunteer project organised by Teresa Ma from Conservation Volunteer New Zealand at the Molley Green Reserve - Tā Tātou Māra Kai which is a community food forest in Mount Roskill bringing sustainable food options to the neighbourhood.
The public Food forest was created by Group coordinator Rowan Cant which he says - “Through the garden, we are hoping that people have a central space to gather, to meet neighbours, share skills, stories and recipes."
Our students had the support from an awesome individual named Dominic Ross who educated our students about the importance of sustainable living practises such a growing your own fruit / vegetable, cycling rather that driving and bringing the community together to better our environment.
We hope to visit Molley Green Reserve again during a different season and partake in regular Volunteer projects for our community and environment.
