Kia orana, Fakalofa atu, Talofa tatou❤️Toru Fetu Kindergarten is honoured to have had the chance to bless the special vaka carved by Vanu Samuel and blessed by Reverend Falkland!
The vaka recognises the Pacific heritage of the children and families, and Reverend Falkland shared stories of ancestral journeys with the children.
The vaka is used to mark children's journey from kindergarten to school, and the ceremony connected that journey with the journeys of the ancestors. It was a special day that showed respect for culture and heritage.
All our kindergartens honour and celebrate the cultures of our families, and we appreciate the support we get to do this. ❤️❤️

❤❤Kindergarten whānau from Pākaraka Kindergarten extend a huge mihi to everyone who has been a part of their name change journey, including the local iwi who have been guiding and sharing their knowledge with us throughout this process. Our kindergartens have a process of community korero whenever we change our name, whether to make a correction, to reflect local sentiment, or in this case, to reflect the decision of the geographic board and local history. Thank you to all involved. ❤❤❤
Tamariki at Kindergarten welcomed the donation of carboard tubes that provided hours of fun! They were used as ball runs, water races, microphones and weights. Children had to think about how to place the tubes so balls would not get stuck, and work together to problem solve, listen to each other's ideas, and try things out to see what worked. We really appreciate the contribution families make to our programme by passing on materials such as these cardboard cylinders which inspire imagination and creativity. Thanks to all those who think of kindergarten when looking to recycle items that could be attractive and inspire learning! 😊
Tamariki at Raumati Beach Kindergarten have the opportunity to learn origami from Anna, an international student from Japan at Kapiti College who visits regularly to share Japanese culture. Our kindergartens welcome our close community links and the extra experiences our visitors can bring to our programme! The tamariki can help Anna learning English, so the exchange is wonderful for everyone! 🙂❤
Today we're celebrating all the fathers, father figures, brothers, uncles, grandads, mentors, and all the amazing men who support and guide us ❤️

The disability community is speaking out about government initiatives that harm disabled people and their whānau. ❤️
Did you get a form letter from Louise Upston ? We are thrilled that after months of letter writing and ahead of our campaign tomorrow, the government has been forced to acknowledge the community.
We know that means they’re nervous about tomorrow’s campaign - and so they should be.
The disabled community, parents and carers and allies are strong 💪 and we won’t let this government harm our tamariki and community.
Let’s paint social media yellow tomorrow and make sure we are heard by this government 👍
Image: A preview description of the community people powered social media campaign happening tomorrow. It’s yellow, with the image of a child. In the centre in black and white it says: Tomorrow 12 Midday.
