A mindful yet mindless practice
~ no kiln required ~
A vase is always my go to project for beginners as it allows for uniqueness in its form. Everyone can follow the same steps but the finished creation is always different, reflecting its maker 💛
Moments in the studio captured on film by 🌫️🤍 all the feels! Grateful to be able to create so freely.
Sorrento Sand ~ named after the beach outside our window, which we bathe in during summer and brave in the Winter. A special sand bank that feels endless, scattered with starfish and little nippers. The bay were it all began 🐚

I am so excited and grateful to be able to work with another artist to bring you a kit incorporating more natural materials. We cannot wait for this to be launched!!

An ipu whenua (clay bowl to hold the placenta) hand-built by close friends and family during a pēpi shower last weekend. The intention was for everyone to help māmā build this up, each adding their own coil, reflecting layers of their nurturing support. This bowl will be buried shortly after birth with the placenta, returning this peice of whenua back to papatūānuku (mother earth).
Claydays embracing an exciting new chapter in 2024! Grateful for all the learnings this wee creative outlet has provided since this photo was taken. Lots of change at the Sorrento HQ as Emily heads off overseas on a personal adventure to pursue new passions and no doubt will continue developing her creative crafts from afar. Haley will be taking over the future of Claydays independently with lots of exciting growth and ideas in the works. Thanks for all your support so far, it’s been a wonderful experience connecting with you all through clay! Arohanui 🤎
