When your first post of the year is in February 🫣

Hi, hello, it’s me, your tired but happy wedding planner! There has been some big changes here at over the last few months as my lovely co-founder, rockstar and all round bestie Sarah has sadly left the business 😭 She is moving back to the UK to be with her family and I am so excited for her, but also wahhhh 😢

So Elegant & Wild will be a one-woman-show, with some lovely helpers for our on-the-day coordination team.

I had a pretty quiet looking 2023, but it’s safe to say that things have blown up since the new year, with lots of enquiries coming through from those Christmas engagements and recommendations from previous couples and vendor friends 😍✨💍

Feeling very grateful for all the support and looking forward to the year ahead.

❗️Putting on a wedding dress is not a sexy experience.

Don’t get me wrong, the whole process of finding you’re dress is lovely, you get to try on beautiful dresses and find ‘the one’ that fits your personality and makes you feel like a movie star…

….but actually getting a dress on?!

What they don’t tell you is dress shopping usually involves showing far more of your body to people you just met than you expected, big knickers, ungracious rearranging of b***s and getting very hot and sweaty in the process 😂.

My top tips for getting into your gown on the wedding day are:

1️⃣ Put on your dress as late as humanly possible & make sure you’ve practiced with your designated dressers beforehand

2️⃣Have a crochet hook in your emergency kit (we always have one on hand on our kits)

3️⃣Hire a really good photographer who you are comfortable with and will make the process look fun and delicate (and edit out the nip slip, thanks 😬)

Our summer brides Rebekah & Karmél enjoying their wedding reception at Mana Cruising Club. We were so unbelievably lucky with the weather for this one - beautiful blue sky day and the rain didn’t hit till their guests were on the dance floor. Couldn’t have planned it better ourselves!

Wow team, It’s been a hot minute! The last few months have included a whole load of planning graft, meetings with our lovely clients, site visits, keeping up with our pesky day jobs + a whirlwind trip back to the UK so I could be MOH for my lifetime best friend ❤️ it was so special to get home and celebrate with family after so long and a little bit cool to be part of a day I didn’t plan for once!
Back to the Wellington weather and dreams of our summertime celebrations.

BRUNCH AT WEDDINGS 🥞🥐🍳☕️

Wedding timelines rarely fit in with ‘normal’ meal times but for this celebration our couple opted for a daytime only event. What better way to follow a mid-morning ceremony than this stunning canape brunch paired with mimosas to fuel up their guests before an afternoon of activities?

It might be our favourite timeline yet for an intimate celebration and is perfect for those accommodating children or elderly relatives.

Even if you’re sticking with a more traditional timeline, we’d always recommend ordering in brunch from a local bakery or from your caterer to munch on whilst your wedding parties are getting ready!

Basically, we just really love brunch.
