Well, we are approaching the FINAL NIGHT for 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘀. We are sold out this evening (as we were last night)...but we are really proud to have brought this new, fast-paced twist on the classic Sherlock Holmes story by Jon Jory to a Wellington stage.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘀, playing at the Gryphon Theatre between August 7th - 17th, is directed by Ewen Coleman, a long-time supporter of all things theatre in Wellington. Ewen received a KSM in the 2024 Honours list for services to theatre, and was also awarded the 2023 Wellingtonian of the Year for the Arts.

For this production of the Sherlock Holmes classic, Ewen selected the script adaptation by 𝗝𝗼𝗻 𝗝𝗼𝗿𝘆.

Pip is a new play-with-songs adaptation of Charles Dickens’ beloved novel, Great Expectations. This original production has been written, developed, and scored by members of the Wellington theatre community and focuses on the relationships between the main character Pip and the three most significant influences on his young and adult life – the escaped convict Magwitch, the damaged and reclusive Miss Havisham, and the beautiful but cold Estella.
