Celebrating International Women’s Day with Veronica. Meet Veronica Mego, a world Class Coffee Producer from Cajamarca Peru.

This year’s International Women’s Day theme is ‘inspire inclusion’. This resonates deeply with us at Flight Coffee urging us to actively support female coffee producers. By purchasing green coffee from women-led farms, we foster economic empowerment and inspire a more inclusive coffee community. This is why we are donating 100% of the profits from this coffee to the International Women’s Coffee Alliance. The IWCA unites a global network of chapters and supports the work and growth of women in the international coffee community.

Veronica is a coffee producer from Cajamarca. She has been actively involved in managing part of her father’s farm located at 1,850 metres above sea level. She has taken on a leadership role in the family’s enterprise.
The coffee in this lot is harvested following a strict ripeness criteria, floated, and hand-sorted to remove any defects. The coffee is then exposed to a 3-day fermentation in bags. After this stage, coffee was pulped and gently washed. The coffee was then sun-dried for 15 days.

COFFEE UP 🛎️🛎️ // First up for our singles this year is a familiar offering from DOI PANGKHON in Thailand. Crafted in collaboration with The Merlaeku Family and Beanspire, this natural processed micro lot is a testament to dedication and precision. Grown in the Chiang Rai region, this coffee blend features Catuai, Typica, and the local Chiang Mai varieties.

With tasting notes reminiscent of COCONUT, MILK CHOCOLATE, and TOASTED MARSHMALLOW, this Thai gem promises a flavour journey like no other. The Merlaeku brothers oversee the entire process, from cherry floating to drying on bamboo raised beds, resulting in a coffee that reflects the rich traditions of the Akha Hilltribe farmers.
