Growing up with a bodybuilder as a dad, a lot of my “uncles” were my dads gym buddies that were mainly powerlifters and Olympic lifters, and a lot were at national and some international levels of competing. Q I would end up at some of these powerlifting events growing up as it was my environment. One in particular had such an impact on me and has inspired to this day. I was about 12 and watched my “uncle” Brian Froggatt lift along with some of dads other friends…. Brian was born with a paddle foot I’ve found out later in life. And when I heard his name being called out as the next lifter in the squat…. I was shocked and concerned!!!!! I watched Brian hop up to the bar…. And I wanted to scream out “STOP NOOOO!!” But everyone else was shouting encouraging words to him “COME ON BRIAN!!! LETS GOOOO!!!” My eyes were sooo fu***ng wide watching Brian hop under the bar, postion himself, lift the weight, take 2 small hops back, pause….. and S Q U A T!!!

I yelled so fu***ng hard that day I will never forget how he lifted that weight up with one leg!!!! I fu***ng cried watching him lift all that day. Thank you Brian Froggat for all that you’ve done just being you.

One thing that I am grateful for after losing the weight, was being able to participate in my kids lives. I wanted to be present as much as I could, to see and witness them learning and growing. I was that parent that would take them to the park and park up and hope they would go play while I stayed in the car as I was too big and uncomfortable to play with them, not to mention unfit.

I’m grateful to have been their coaches in whatever sport they chose. I met their friends, (found out which ones were dicks 🤣) and more importantly their friends met me, and we now have lots of common memories we’ve built together. ❤️

For those that are losing weight not only for yourselves but your families... it’s worth it. Keep going.
