The aim of this policy is to help students, supervisors, and examiners achieve success in postgraduate student research, and prevent or resolve dispute matters, should they arise.
Te Tira Ahu Pae, your Studentsโ Association, invites all students to our online consultation forum, to open the floor and share your experience in completing your thesis exams, or your thoughts on how you think this policy will impact completing a thesis exam.

What do Class Representatives do? ๐ง
Class Reps give feedback about issues affecting students as they arise within their classes and courses. They are students who volunteer to act as a class contact between students, teaching staff and the studentsโ association (Te Tira Ahu Pae). Watch the video https://youtu.be/byfXVzDw-FM to find out more about Class Reps.
Why are you encouraged to be a Class Rep? ๐ง
โข It is an easy way to meet new people - great for first year students who want to make some new friends
โข Increase involvement in the course means a higher chance of succeeding.
โข Develop leadership and employment skills
โข Gain experience that can be bragged about on your CV when you graduate! Plenty of certificates to be earned
โข Contribute to high quality courses and teaching

Kia ora koutou,
There will be no Online Supervised Examโs taking place in Semester 2 or Summer School of 2024.
After the OSE debacle last semester that saw many students unable to access their exams for multiple days, Massey has extended the removal of OSEโs to Sem 2 and Summer School this year.
Masseyโs response during the debacle and this decision can be accredited to the large numbers of students that engaged with us and other initiatives such as the petition to, โhttps://www.change.org/p/stop-massey-university-from-using-online-supervised-exams-ose โ. Massey has seen how many students are invested in this issue and has listened to Te Tira Ahu Paeโs short term demands.
However, nothing is set for 2025 onwards. Senior Massey Staff are currently working on decisions for the long-term in regard to OSE use at Massey. Student reps are being included in these discussions, so weโll continue to fight on behalf of students. Weโll pass on further updates when we have them.
To provide any input on the use of Online Supervised Examโs at Massey, or if you have any questions, please direct them to the lead OSE Representative Contact Flynn: [email protected]
