My dear ZB friends
It is with a very heavy heart and a deep sense of gratitude that we need to convey
the news that Fritz passed away this morning, likely around 6:30am from a massive
heart attack. Philip Lindstrom, Aminah's son, was contacted by Carlotta to tell him
the news.
Yesterday Fritz woke with wobbly legs and needed to use a walker to go to exercise class
which was something new for him.
He then later in the morning zoomed into our Art of ZB class with 30 people....spoke with each one and looked
very much his radiant self.
Last night he texted at 7pm ( early even for him) he was going to bed to get a good night's sleep and would feel
better today.
We were fortunate to see him a few days ago and Doug Deming took him to Borrego Springs
for a last look.
The Birthday party will now be a Life Celebration of Dr. Fritz Smith.....very fitting as he
was somewhat dreading the event due to his hearing issues.
Please put him in your prayers
Bless him for all the joy he brought to so many and as he stated
"I developed Zero Balancing to relieve suffering and make the world a better place"
Indeed he has.
Sending you all much love
Michael & Jim
ZB Expanded Addressing the Skull wrapped up on Saturday in Christchurch NZ. This is what ZB people look like after they’ve had 4 days of amazing tuition and table time with ZB for the skull! Yet another transformative training experience by Judith Sullivan and Helen LeClair … and the Tao!
Our thanks to Judith, Helen and everyone who came from US, Australia, NZ and for those who helped out during the course. 🙏
Now the challenge is to keep the momentum going by arranging swaps and other events in your areas, by moving towards certification, by getting the experience of safe touch out to the general public, by joining with us in future training opportunities, and by bringing your own ideas and enthusiasm to ZBNZA at the upcoming AGM (date tba).
A few of the ZBX course participants got together in Christchurch at '27 Steps' on New Regent Street to enjoy a delicious meal!
Today we welcome 6 new participants for the Skull course and a NZ record number of 23 ZB students for the Skull course, including NZ, US and Australian participants.
Today we have been discovering the mysterious delights of the 'Underground River', among many other intriguing preparatory fulcrums.

Some of what makes ZB feel good is easy to describe. Other parts of it are more challenging!
In answer to “what does ZB feel like?” I usually say something about feeling deeply relaxed, each session is different, pain shifts or goes away, feeling taller or more integrated, grounded etc.
But there’s a part that’s so hard to put into words.
I received three sessions over the weekend, from three different people. Standing outside with my kids last night I had a moment that is quintessential of the post-ZB experience. I felt a strong connection down through my legs and into the ground. And I felt the choice to slow down and bring greater presence to this moment. I felt the option to live less in my future planning mind, or in my anxiousness. And the invitation to be more fully alive. I’ve had enough ZB over the years to recognise this as the effects of a session, usually coming several hours after.
Please come along to the AGM this Monday evening at 8pm!
We need your input.
And there’s a couple of special surprises in store for you!!
Also … The ZB TRAINING being run by Rebekah is definitely going ahead.
Close off for registrations is 31 July, but please book early.

ZERO BALANCING IS 50! (1973 to 2023 and beyond)
A letter to the ZB community from Founder Dr. Fritz Smith
2023 is the 50th anniversary of Zero Balancing – our Golden Jubilee!!! It is a time of celebration and a time to give thanks to the hundreds of people who have made this possible – ZB Practitioners, ZB Teachers and Students, Committee Members, ZB Staff, Authors, Clients, and, of course, The Zero Balancing Touch Foundation, and our International ZB Associations. It is a time to give extra special recognition to those folks who have worn multiple hats during this time. ZB continues to prove its healing effectiveness and remains a springboard of creativity. With this 50-year history, the future of Zero Balancing looks very promising. I wish we could all be here for its 75th anniversary – the Sapphire Jubilee!!

Empowering Touch: A Personal Journey
By Diane Bazin, CZB, Certified Mentor
“I believe the power of touch comes in many forms depending on how we contact another person: through physical touch, verbally, listening, mentally, facial expressions, and body language. Touch also affects the deepest part of me, my divine spirit, my soul.
ZB touch feels particularly good to me, allowing me to sink deep into my body, my core, my deepest self, touching all of me.
In a session, mentally, I can touch through framing. Framing establishes boundaries and therefore constitutes a container and a potential empowered space. As I listen deeply to a person’s story the sense of being heard can be empowering for my client and has a healing value of its own.
Then, my first touch at Interface reassures my client of their self-worth as they connect to something beyond themselves, knowing they are part of the whole. As I touch compassionately and with clarity, allowing the moment to unfold, they relax deeply into their own body, helping to contain the dance within.
Embracing and deepening my skills through the Mentor Advancement Program (MAP) I have embodied touch more as a mentor. Taking Forms and Fulcrums with Michael Oruch gave me confidence in my touch skills and being present in my body. In Jim McCormick’s Touching the Whole Person, I embodied being present, refining my touch and listening skills. And, in Alchemy of Touch with Michele Doucette, I embraced this class the second time around on deeper level, allowing the touch to go beyond the walls I had unknowingly created. Here, I was able to feel safe and supported so that I could drop beneath levels of fear, anxiety, and uncertainty. In that moment, as I was being held in the highest personal regard by my friends and colleagues, I could feel the warmth of group’s heartbeat.
It's true that ZB touch can provide extraordinary experiences on the deepest level.”
“Every moment is a moment of creation, and each moment of creation, contains infinite possibilities.” Shakti Gawain
