π’ Urgent Appeal: Aid for Typhoon Carina Victims!
While schools remain suspended and children are at home, let's use this time to gather donations for those affected by typhoon Carina. Share age-appropriate news with your children to help them understand the situation and see how they can contribute. This is an opportunity to foster empathy and compassion during this challenging time.
We are initiating a crucial donation drive to assist those impacted by the typhoon. You may bring these items to the school. Your immediate help is needed to provide:
1. Clothing and blankets
2. Hygiene kits, diapers, and first aid supplies
2. Non-perishable food and groceries
For monetary donations, we would encourage you to send it to trusted organizations who can send proper acknowledgment and tracking such as through Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines, Inc. or Angat Buhay.
Your compassion will greatly contribute to the safety and recovery of our community members, as well as those in nearby barangays and cities affected by flooding and storm damage.
To help educate your children on why flooding occurs, what Habagat means, how typhoons form, and what we can do about it, check out the links on the comments section. These resources provide age-appropriate information about monsoons, flooding, and safety measures. We encourage you to explore these with your children to enhance their understanding of the current situation and promote climate awareness.
Important Links to know:
* To get the latest updates from the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC IV-A), check the FB page of Civil Defense CALABARZON.
* To check if a certain location is prone to flooding, visit the website of the Nationwide Operational Assessment of Hazards of the University of the Philippines, or UP NOAH .
Thank you for your generosity. Together, we can make a significant impact and educate our children on the importance of helping others and being prepared for natural disasters.
Act now: Donate, educate, and make a difference!
